New Golf GTi Prices

Volkswagen's forthcoming Golf GTI will start from £19,995 when it goes on sale in January.

Unveiled at last month's Paris show, the hot new Golf continues a long hot-hatch tradition for VW. And the company says orders have been mounting up ever since its dedicated website was launched at www.newgolfgti.co.uk.

The GTI has only one engine option, a turbocharged 2.0 FSI unit developing 197bhp. But there's still a range of choices to be made:


Three-door or five door
Six-speed manual or DSG gearbox
Just as there's only one engine, so there's only one spec level. All GTI models include:


Dual-zone climate
Ten-speaker CD stereo
Front, front side and curtain airbags
ESP
Multi-function computer
17-inch alloys, with 18-inchers a £445 option

The UK goverment seems to hate cars.

Am I the only one who think it looks okay? Im not saying, I like the styling but it is not as ugly as some of you claimed. At least I don't think so.

Of course, it could be just me. I am Asian, so that might be the reason.

Its an improvement over the current golf, styling wise, but the origina GTi is the only one that really does it for me :/

Yeah, and paint the whole bumper one color, or at least put some RAD DECALS on it like the Probe and finish the murder, rather than let it live its life in such a mangled form.

I like the looks.
Not as pretty as the Mark I or II, but a revelation, compared to the Mark III and IV.

What I'm waiting for now, is the R32...

When your a few MPH ove rteh limit. Ok it is illegal, but a warning is enough. No need for points and a fine. When I said parking tickets I should have said Pay-and-display prices. I live in Swansea which I think has some of the highest parking prices in the UK.
