hey, im from the GT4 forum (stopped driffting on GT4 until i get a video capture card) and got thisa game. how does this games drifting compare to GT4's?

Yeah, i'm here now. This board is kinda slow. Um, try reading some of the more recent posts, we just had a discussion recently about GT3 vs. GT4 drifting. I myself have no opinion yet since i've barly touched GT4.

Some say it's less realistic, some say it's more realistic (I'm of the opinion that GT3's drifting is significantly more realistic)...

Pretty much everyone can agree that GT3 drifting is a lot easier.

I gotta say, I haven't drifted much in GT3. But compared to GT4, it feels a little muddy, grabby, and not as on-the-edge-of-control-loose as in GT4. It is overall easier in GT3. I can't vouch for realism in either case, however, as I haven't drifted in real life. A better person to talk to would be Delphic Reason.

Now I have to too. I've only drifted on gt4 seeing as my gt3 has been shelved for months(I dont think my ps2 will even play anything except gt4 anymore).
Maybe I'll give it a try tonight.

Well to tell you the truth both have pros and cons when it comes to being more realistic to real world drifting physics actually. The way the car pushes in GT4 is more on the unrealistic side (while your in drift) but the ease and length on drifts in GT3 are more unrealistic. I prefer GT3 to 4 for drifting, racing is the other way around for me.

well I just started in GT4 and I must say it's a lot harder to control that car then in GT3, the steering is much slower grrr. It takes time to get used to it :D . GT4 is some what more realistic then GT3 I think but GT3 is much easy-er :D

gt4 i think the drifting is harder to initiate and keep a clean line goin, nut in gt3 you can tune your cars so that all you have to do steer into the corner then counter. i think i prefer gt3 specialy in my mustang svt cobra R i luv tht car hahaha

ok, I tried to give it a go - just went to arcade mode, chose a car and took drift setting and couldnt get it right.
Maybe I'm too used to drifting in GT4 now(I'm getting quite good actually)

Oh well, thats what weekends are for, maybe this one I'll give it another shot.

Ok. I am going to answer your question about realism. I drift in real life. I own a Corolla GT-S (Sprinter Trueno). The fact of the mater is, GT3 owns GT4 in drifting. The cars in GT4 understeer way too much, and also, you can't even do a donut in GT4, which is stupid. Any RWD car with an LSD can do a donut.
