hey everyone. im having trouble on the long left hander on trial mountain, after the straight. my car is: 91 rx7 fd,j. 340hp. orig suspension. idk all the good stuff. i just cant hold it the whole corner without spinning out, or going wide into the gaurdrail. thanks. see ya later. -cam

edit- figured i post my technique. i come in around 50ish, no throttle. turn, the back slides out, i steady it with taps of the throttle and steering, countersteering.

Hi there! one thing you can try is breaking early. Too much speed after that long straight will mess up the oversteer. Break early with a slight feint motion then turn in a bit before the corner itself. This should get you angled correctly before you even hit the corner and your front should be facing a bit towards the apex. Then try controlling the drift with throttle and counter-steering.

i uselly come in around between 75 to 85mph, and feint and just countersteer and tap the throttle and i get a clean drift all the way around just check your speed bro.

but the highest speed i went was like 90mph and almost spun out and hit the gaurd rail, still got to get better at controlling the car

Yep... what xsquizet-drifte said. the trick is to slow down to a speed that can carry the drift. If you said you come in slow and end up in a shallow drift, then it may be too slow. track your speed while entering the corner. 👍

You're going WAY to slow for the entire corner. There is only ONE trick to that corner, entry. Once you get into it that will make or brake the drift. I tend to come in a bit to the right(out) and then aim for the yellow hazard marks. This usually yields a good line.

Usually your going anywhere from 130 - 160
Hard braking usually causes understeer so i feint before and throw myself sideways before the corner and the friction will slow you down, then once in the corner step on the gas and drift, i also like to use the yellow lines as a guide.

so speed. speed is my problem. alright thanks everyone, im gonna try comming in faster, and more on the outside. thanks again. see ya later.

i usually come in very fast, feint into the corner when that sign over the hill comes up, then i lift off the gas quickly and brake hard to slow myself down to get the right line, and when im on the right line(about halfway through the corner) i give it gas to stay on the line all the way to the exit while making sure my line doesnt take me into the wall(modulate the gas if you see yourself in the wall, possibly brake a bit to slow ya down) then i speed off to the next corner.
might sound complicated, but its almost natrual for me. and it all happens in a few seconds.

When it comes to that corner (easily one of my most favorite corners to drift in the game), i slam on the brakes a little bit past the last u-turn sign above the right side of the road till I reach a good speed, i then feint, and ride the whole corner out, adding more gas to get closer to the apex. If you need an example, I have it in my tutorial on how to feint drift, its the first corner.

have you guys noticed that driving in the gutter on the right hand side of the road causes traction loss and that you can use it to initiate your drift? i've done it with some high speed drifting that took me very close, but not quite hitting, the guardrail.

um, i find the braking drift is better for this corner. basically on entry press the brake button (but not too hard, remember PS2 controllers are pressure sensative) for a moment while turning towards the apex, then hitting the gas and countersteering. if done correctly you should be able to say "brake. brake. brake. gas." notice i haven't written it as "brakebrakebrakegas" if you don't do it correctly you'll spin out.

gl hf!

brake- feint- throthle -steer in- get side aways- countersteer

their u go... keep a reasonable speed but braking is important in this corer

keep practising this corner .. u will get it pinned .. (check that corner in my vid)
