Hi,

In the Cars forum, I had the idea to make a Fan Club Sub Forum where GTP members would make Fan Clubs for whatever car(s).

Sorry if I worded it badly, obviously I cant make Sub Forums, after all, it's only an idea ......

We had a "Club" trend a few years back, and it spawned the (barely used) Mazda and Nissan subforums. I do believe Jordan was going to merge those two forums with Cars in General since they are barely used.

If you really want to discuss a specific car or brand to no end, you should join a forum dedicated to that perticular car and/or brand.

I hope not! The Nissan Sub forum is used, one of the best forums at GTP IMO.

I quite like the idea of a sub Forum labelled Car Clubs. Then members can post 1 thread for each loved car. so:

Topic 1: Chevrolet Corvette Fans

Topic 2: Dodge Viper Fans

Topic 3: Toyota Supra Fans

Would allow people to discuss about their favourite or group of favourite cars, discussing all model years of the car.

My 2cents worth. However, I'm not sure it would catch on

What I meant was 1 Sub Forum, inside that Forum would be like

Thread 1 - Nissan Fan Club
Thread 2 - Saab Fan Club

But how do you define 'worth the space'? That definition is extremely open to interpretation.

For me, I would define is as if the particular manufacturer has enough interest. If only 1 or 2 people are interested in, say, some no-name Canadian company, then it isn't worth making a club for it.

Yes, that is true - when I typed that I had what Duck suggested in my mind. It will say, need at least 20 people interested, for example.

I don't think it would get used enough, I know for a fact the TVR thread wouldn't get as many posts if it was in a sub forum, as I suspect it would be with the rest of them too.

The GTF tried this, and it wound up with 20 barely-used forums, even at its peak of daily membership.

The Nissan and Mazda fora have been around a while, but there's so many dedicated forums for nearly every type of autmombile that I think it's pointless for a forum dedicated to a video game about cars. The two car sections we have are enough.

Like I said before 1 Sub Forum, with a thread for each fan club, not a sub forum for each fan club.

I can see where a Clubs forum may have some use, but I don't really think it would be used enough in reality to warrant it.
