a6m5P.S. Why was Mazda name added to the track?
That's what it's called now. Mazda bought it or something, i'm not sure. It happened after GT3 came out, so it didn't have the Mazda name attached in GT3.

the real 6cMazda was added to the name because it is now Mazda Laguna Seca. If i remember right Mazda purchased the track. I don't think it is just a sponsor like on sports arena's, but i could be wrong. I ahve been hit in the head to many times to totally trust my memory.

Thanks guys! Well, good for Mazda. 👍 I know if I was running an car company, I'd love to own an awesome track like the Laguna Seca.red_infinityI believe you are correct. Mazda owns Laguna Seca now.
the real 6ci liked Laguna in GT3 for testing too. I ran the track "perfect" so I could always compare what car was faster or what change made the car better. I just think there is so much room for error if using nurburgring. Maybe its because i haven't memorized the nurburgring yet, but i can't drive several laps within tenths of a second of each other like i could at laguna in GT3.
MazdaTrack Naming Rights Partner, Official Car & Truck

For Mazda North America the partnership with Laguna Seca Raceway goes far beyond the obvious naming and branding signifigance at the track. Laguna Seca has become Mazda's "Home Away From Home". Mazda's presence has become woven into the daily business of the facility, from the entensive use of the track for product testing to the 2003 World Launch of the RX-8.
I agree, it's kinda tacky, but that's business!CrayolaDoesnt either honda or toyota own Sazuka though? It doesnt have their name attached, unless Mazda were tools about it.

BiggsIs it me or is the new Laguna Seca really horrible compared to its GT3 Counterpart? I love everything about the new game apart from the new track. The Corkscrew and the corner before the corkscrew have been absolutely massacred, I can never find a line through it. Its not as if I'm a total newb to the physics and things either, as I'm currently at 25% ready to start some endurance races. Anyone else think it sucks?
mbavaria30shaha yeah i bet you have totally raced a lot of laps around laguna seca in california, too, haven't you. totally your place to post opinions on the correctness of a course.

I know what you mean, especially the bend before the corkscrew, could go flat out through there, however, its all in the quest for realism.BiggsIs it me or is the new Laguna Seca really horrible compared to its GT3 Counterpart? AdonWTF is wrong with u guys.........
the Laguna Seca in Gran Turismo 4 is EXACTLY LIKE IT IS IN REAL LIFE...
a friend of mine has raced on Laguna Seca more than once, and he said he COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW ACCURATE it is compared to real life.... he goes as far as saying that he parked his car on one of the corners to take in the scenery and its exactly like he remembers it....
(by the way he raced on Laguna a few months ago, so its very recent)
but you little arcade gamers like the GT3 Version of Laguna dont you..... and BIGGS.. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
the corkscrew HAS NOT BEEN MASSACRED as you describe...
IT HAS BEEN DONE JUSTICE !!!!!!!!!
cuz its exactly like it is in real life......
yall need to do some research before u make whack statements.....
I read what you wrote and I just couldnt stop laughing dude.. thankz for the laughss
