Hey guys,

The new Youtube layout is HORRIBLE. Period.

Everything is left aligned, wasting 1/3 of a WHOLE widescreen monitor that should be filled with useful content. It's as if they're only supporting 4:3 displays...

I don't post here often, but this has ticked me off enough to post a thread and make a poll asking whether you agree with me on this...

Voted "Not sure" because my Youtube is exactly as its always been, layout wise. They've changed some logos and buttons and stuff but essentially it's exactly the same.

I've seen countless comments on videos saying how crap it is, I just think "What the hell are you chatting about??" It's got me thoroughly confused.

I really miss the old layout...

The new one just makes me confused and also im not using youtube as much as I did anymore.

I sent YT a long feedback when it came out
The thing's i hate about is the shear amount of horizontal space its takes up , im on wide screen laptop & its far to much space .
Usually im at 150% zoom on chrome but i had to go down to 125% to get it to fit.
While the Guide feature is cool when its no in use there's just a large open space so i told them it should be a dropdown or something that would open up like you user video thing at the top right does.
Finally :D the playlist shuffle button doesn't work when auto play is on.

I agree here with everyone. The new layout is utter junk. It looks VERY sloppy in my opinion and extremely unprofessional. I miss the previous layout of youtube, this new layout is hideous and actually hard to look at.

Still extremely confused, it's the same as it's always been!!

It's fine on lower res monitors but when I use my home PC at 1080p the entire right side of the screen is blank.

I don't get why website creators are giving up simplicity and user-friendliness for esthetics.

The play list for example was all nice, big and easy to see and use at the bottom of the screen. Now all of a sudden they decided to place your playlist on the right hand side with these teeny tiny menu buttons. That annoyed me in particular.

I've gotten used to it, but I just can't deal with the fact they got rid of the ease of access to someone's most recent 24 videos from a video.

There is just way too much white space, and when I receive notifications it doesn't tell me, I have to go into my inbox every few days to check anyone has raged at me or anything.

The fix is to set your screen resolution to 1024x768. I've measured the width of displayed content and it's a total of 1000px wide, so 1024x768 = fits perfectly.

It's dumb, but that's how it is...

I don't like it. The older version was much better and easier to use. This feels like a cluttered mess and they're both similar!

Why should I have to turn down a crystal clear 1920x1600 display to something mad blurry (in comparison) to display a webpage properly. I should not have to cater to them. A coporate website that big and owned by Google should be a lot better.

This. It's one of the most used websites. Yet you have to have a single type of screen? It would make sense to work with a whole lot of screen resolution.

I don't actually use it much on my laptop. The mix of slow wifi and fast 3G means I just use my phone to do all my YouTube needs.

Because web developers say 1024x768 is best for web pages.
This is because people were using this size screen back with WinXP and few people have them today.
