New Lotus Esprit to be revealed in September

Personally I think the new Elite looks great and with 610bhp for the R model mixed with Lotus chassis genius it will no doubt be a fantastic car to drive but this is the Esprit thread so I'll leave it at that.

Aston DB9 is 3880 lbs which is the Elite's target competitor and it's got KERS. The Elite is a 2+2 GT so isn't going to be as light as a 2 seat sports or super car.

I think the design itself looks nice. BUT it also looks like a Japanese car (S2000 anyone?). I also see a lot of the Ferrari California, as well as the Tiburon.

Where's the Lotus genes?

Oh, and I don't think they should have used the Elite nameplate on this one...
