thanks, I cant wait till it comes out, my freinds dad says he is going to buy it, he curently has 2001 imola red M5 and its a blast to drive ( I got to drive it!!) he always lets us take it out and drive it all over the city!! its great!!:D

I saw a new 5 series, and i apoligize to those who like its looks, but its looks caught me off gaurd and the horrors of its design gripped me. Its rear lamps were what i saw for the majority of the time, and those lights just rubbed me the wrong way. The Z4's looks are, contrary to what many say, actually fairly good looking in my opinion. but this car screamed hyundai from the rear... just thought i would remark

I know, it sucking ****s. Just kidding, I love the new 5-series! I'd never buy one, though.

All the new BMWs (7 series, Z4, 5 series) grew on me and now I quite like them. Wasn't sure at first though

I've put myself on a waiting list for the new M5, though I'm not so sure how official that is since it's well over a year away. I've got a black 2002.

Incidentally, this is probably the biggest instance where looks need to be put aside. The new 5-series isn't ugly, but most people don't think it looks great. Nevertheless, it's going to be on the high side of 450-500bhp, with a 0-60 of under 4.5 seconds. Who the hell cares about looks (or price:D)?

nice!! you got an M5!!!! great cars arnt they??? when I was driving one, I found the clutch was a bit hard to get used to, but when you finally get it, you feel really conected with the car!! thats why I like the feel of it so much, I cant wait to see what dinan comes out with for the new M5!!!!

I got mine lightly used (3k-4k mi) about a month ago, but I'd driven various third-generation M5s before, so I was already used to any oddness involved in the clutch. It's a truly great car, though I am going to get a second car because the M5 is a bit too involving for Manhattan.

what are you thinking of getting?? and do you drive that thing in the winter, its actually a good car in the winter, i was suprised, I guess its because of the traction controll.

I'm going to get a Volkswagen Phaeton 6.0 as a second car. I don't drive my M5 in the winter, but only because it's garaged in Las Vegas but I'm moving to New York City soon, so I imagine it'll get a little winter driving time there. I'm not really surprised that it'd be good in the snow though - it does have a good traction control system.

A phaeton!! that would be sweet, the interiors on those things look awesome, does it have the W12??? yeh the traction control is amazing, on the M5, me and my bud took it to a huge empty parking lot and took traction control off, does that thing ever slide!!! it was so much fun!! it was a semi truck parking lot....empty, he he he:D

Two words for ya: snow tires.

The stock Pilots will kill you in the white stuff.

Yeah, I'm getting my first (and hopefully only) twelve-cylinder car with this. It's got seven times the power of the original Beetle. It's also got Volkswagen's nice all-wheel drive system ('4Motion') so I'll be using it primarily in the winter, probably.

Pfft, snow tyres are for sissies.

yeh, me and my bud where driving an M5 with the summer tires..and holy crap!! a little tap on the gas would send you spinning, that was without traction control, but even with, its still scary!!!!
