New manufacturers?

Have any new manufacturers been signed up for GT4? Would be nice to see works Porsches, a Noble would be cool, and it goes without saying that I'd like to see some Saabs in there. Any news?

What about classic cars? Surely now the McMerc is out, we could see a proper McLaren in GT4 (meaning the F1 of course - can't believe that car is 10 years old now!). And the 1970s Aston V8 & Vantage. Are there likely to be F1 cars this time?

Cheers.

I got the image from Loo Roll. They have some interesting stuff there ... too bad they don't update anymore.

Technically Cadillac, Hyundai, and Pontiac are not "new" manufacturers since they were all in GTC (the Cadillac Cien, Hyundai Accent WRC/HCD6/Clix, and Pontiac Solstice).

Also, MG and Plymouth were both in GT2 ;)

I assume they'll just build on the old car selections from this point forward. Perhaps revising the old car models as they add detail / quality in later PlayStation releases.

I wonder how long it would take them to get all cars ever manufactured into the selection. And then all the additional modified race cars.

"Gran Turismo X - I've you've seen it / heard about it / dreamed of it ... you can drive it here."

Heh heh (:

Anything not in GT3 I'm putting in as new, GTC wasn't availabe to everyone and GT2 was on a different console, the original PS so I thought it would be fitting to take it from GT3. As for MG, MG was in GT, MG Rover wasn't, it's adifferent company now more or less.

I dunno what lawsuits would rise from the name "SEAT" being shown in clear view in the GT4P ending vid if they are not licensed. To me anything from GTC isnt new. But any car from GT2 thats in GT4 is new as it had to modeled unlike GT3/C cars.

Any cars from GT3 have had to be remodelled, PD arn't using the samer software, the cars in GTC won't have to be done again, it's a faster, better and more memory efficiant method PD are using now copared to GT3 where it took 2 weeks for each car. As for SEAT I'll check that movie out.

Cool. I thought it was the closest thing I could find to a Saab, I think it looks vaguely Swedish! Glad they have got some Saabs for GT4, the only car I'll ever need (well apart from the Porsche 928 and Toyota HiLux pickup I'd quite like for weekends!)

McLaren
(now i'm not complaining, but i'd have preferred the road car!)
MG Rover
(brilliant if they've included the ZT V8s, or the SV)
Morgan
(fantastic!)
Morris
(oh dear!)
Noble
(superb!)
Saab
(YES!!! But why the 3.0 9-5, when the 2.3 Aero is the performance version?)

Oh, yeah, just spotted the "Toyota Harrier". Wouldn't it be more fun if they took a leaf out of Top Gear's book and put in a Sea Harrier! For anyone who didn't see it, they took a Saab 9-5 Aero and raced it round the Top Gear test track against a Sea Harrier. Not surprisingly the plane won - a lap of 32s, compared to the previous record holder, the Lambo Murceilago (or whatever it's called) which was about 1m 23s.

The Toyota Harrier is a RX300 here in the US.

And when asked, the pilot of the Sea Harrier said that yes, it would be easy for him to stay entirely within the confines of the tarmac. But they let him go all out :D

It wouldv'e taken an extra 10 seconds or something like that.

It's more likely that the Toyota Harrier spoken of on the Japanese list is the new model introduced this year, and sold in America as the Lexus RX330. The older model as the RX300.

The Toyota Land Cruiser is much bigger then the Toyota Harrier/Lexus RX330. The Harrier is a mid-size SUV, the Land Cruiser is a full-size.

And the Land Cruiser has a 4.7L V8.

He didn't mean on the ground, he meant above the track but directly over the track at all times, no going wide round corners etc.

No it's not the Landcruiser, the older version was in GT2 with a Lexus badge called the RX300, the new one is called the RX330 as mentioned above.

Um, what?

The Toyota Land Cruiser and Toyota Harrier have not be in any Gran Turismo game. Neither have their Lexus variants, the LX470 and RX300/RX330.

The Toyota Land Cruiser/Lexus LX470 (with a 4.7L V8) aren't on any car lists for GT4, and most likely wont be.

The Toyota Harrier/Lexus RX330 (with a 3.3L V6) will be however.

I didn't say Landcruiser was in a GT game, the Lexus RX300 was in GT2. You probaby misunderstood me since I quoted the wrong post though :banghead: :banghead: . Thats all corrected now.

The RX300 was not in GT2 either. Nor the Toyota Harrier.

The only Lexuses in GT2 were the GS300/400 (Toyota Aristo), Lexus IS200 (Toyota Altezza), and Lexus SC300/400 (Toyota Soarer).

Ah poo, I got me RX's and GS's all mixed up again, I've not been taking my medicine recently.

I haven't got GT2 anymore so I couldn't check, I was going from my rather ancient memory of that game.

Uhh... of course the McLaren F1 is under BMW, because that killer V12 comes from BMW plus I imagine that seeing as there would only be one (or two if the roadster were to be included) so really no reason to create a whole new manufaturer

the only Mclaren shown so far is the FINA BMW Mclaren which is probably under the BMW license, so i am doubting there will be a road version. that probably would have to be licensed under the Mclaren name
