And for the first time this car is going to hit U.S. Shores!

The lines on the side just look so wrong in my opinion. Otherwise, typical new Mercedes...

Looks nothing like the PT to me but the lines along the side do make it look like it's already had an accident. Not a good look.

Supposed to be one of the most aerodynamic new cars on sale though, believe it or not. Coefficient of drag of something like 0.27, which is the same as a Prius. Mercedes seems to have the knack of making a car aerodynamic whilst making it look like a regular car.

Those lines on the side didn't turn out well. It reminds me of the Chrysler PT Cruiser.

I'd say more Vauxhall Meriva, personally. Albeit in reverse.

I'm not massively interested in the B Class to be perfectly honest - it's always struck me as something Mercedes didn't really want to make, but did to keep the investors happy. Same goes with the based-on-a-van-that-never-existed Vaneo, which looked a lot like someone tried to make an A Class into a Popemobile.

This doesn't look too bad though. I'm not too thrilled about the outside since it looks exactly the bleedin same as the current one with some aerodynamic adjustment, but the interior looks nice and improved.

That bent line on the doors is just wrong, other than that looks fairly decent, as all people carriers must do. I just dislike the culprits who buy these things in order to attain the 'status' attached to the brand, when they can get a bigger crossover or a similar car from a more traditional manufacturer for much less money. :ouch:

I think they should have a secondary brand to market these things...

Maybe it's just me... but it looks massive. Like, Mazda5-sized, which is a fair bit bigger than the current model. Which I see all the time around here, and it's utterly bland. At least, with these new creases in the sides, it won't be bland anymore. Just ugly.

Nudge me when it or the new A-Class get the rumoured 350hp AMG version, then I might be slightly, slightly more interested, if only for the sheer ridiculousness of it.

No no, I thought that too - particularly when you look at the poor dwarfed man driving the thing.

Judging by the look of this spy shot that I may have just googled it looks pretty hefty too.

It's turning into a tiny little R-Class.

Bravo!

ewww the proportion is so ugly, and the semi truck like nose!

well, THAT'll sell it in the states...a little

so, merc is bringing a crossover over (in the litteral sense of the word, for once)...
you watch, it'll be too small for most american's tastes.

It's a small MPV, I don't think that none of the cars in this class would please the average american buyer. It is not going to steal many sales from Odyssey, Sienna and Quest. Size matters.

hey, at least it'll work down there.

yk, it DOES look a little bit Bangled, doesn't it?

In my opinion the B Class is just "put there" by mercedies to fill a gap in their range (at least that's what I get the feeling of anyways). Never liked the B Class at all. The majority of people probably buy it for that badge. The new car however looks terrible. In my opinion it's just visual pollution. I kinda hope this "dents" mercs reputation a bit (hate the whole prestige/badge thing: "My car has a mercedies badge so it's better than yours!" ).
