I could only get silver with the Integra but I haven't RM mine, should be able to gain another 2 seconds with weight reductions.

Glad I'm not the only one who has experienced slight issues with the prizes.

Tried out the Madrid TT with a variety of cars and it seems the RM Integra Type R is by far the best with the Comfort Soft Tyres. The Civic Type R RM does indeed wheelspin too much, Trial Celica feels heavy in the corners although I didn't think about using the Xsara WRC...

Managed a clean 1:56.3 but I can't see how you could achieve a 1:54.8 cleanly...oh wait they didn't! :grumpy:

Wow, finally the C9! I've been looking for it since January(lost my save-file back then). I kinda managed to get pretty much all other Group C/LMP's during that time.

Grr. A lesson learned:

I managed a fairly easy silver last night on Madrid in a Clio Renaultsport but wheelspin was a bit of an issue to put it mildly. So I looked on the leaderboards to see what everyone else was using. I switched to my Integra RM and loaded up the #1 ghost replay only to see some "yahoo" plowing into the corners.
I think to myself: "Hah, you fool! I'm going to beat your time cleanly and show you up!" The new time trials had just come out so I thought I still had a bit of a shot.
Again, I hit silver right off the bat but I'm having trouble shaving off those last tics.
All the while the "yahoo" is just in front, bouncing off the barriers and dive-bombing the corners. I start to modify my breaking spots, tightening my line. My consistency improves and I'm in front of the yahoo now for half the lap - except for where he dive-bombs the corner, bouncing off the side rails like the "yahoo" idiot he/she is!
Alright! So now the kid gloves are off, a bead of sweat on my brow, teeth gritted, my eyes glaring at the screen and the "idiot yahoo's" bumper laughing at me as it skitters away in a hail of sparks. I gun it trying to catch up but my anger has gotten the better of my throttle control and the comfort softs (damn you comfort softs this isn't the drift trial!) aren't cooperating...
And then, suddenly, a calm comes over me. I'm ahead. My line is perfect. Smooth. Fast. Calm. Beautiful. I come into the dreaded corner...
I push too hard, break too late... stupid. The comfort softs quit and I slide right into the barrier! Just like the "yahoo".
Had I the sense at the time to restart I would have avoided this mess but in wanting to best the "yahoo" I became one myself. I came 4th on the leaderboards much to my chagrin. I tried for another hour to beat my own time cleanly so my replay wouldn't be another "idiot yahoo", but no dice.

Let this be a lesson to you all!

I'll be in the corner.

I was trying to figure out how everyone was doing that Madrid track so fast... it's because the guys up top don't brake... at all at 2 of the "big" turns and just SLAM into the wall.

smh.

👍👍 I am happy with my time knowing that it was clean not perfect, but the best I could do for the amount of time I spend playing GT5.

In the long term I hope PD will add a fix to stop people cheating, the way it is right now you can write off at least the top 500 times ! as cheats.

From my point of veiw the only way to stop this is to have Track cutting penalties & Damage just like you can toggle on & off in offline mode or online but for these events locked to on.

A low 1:56 maybe even a 1:55 can be done without using walls 1:54.s BAAAAHHHH & I have not even looked at replays for the other TT bet their is plenty of corner cutting going on on that one.

I hope this doesn't in any way sound like bragging, but I think the grand valley times are too generous. I used the '10 Subaru from the extreme event, with a little upward adjustment on the gearing and beat the gold time by 4 sec on my first 'warm up' lap. Anyone else finding this?

My Subaru was only tuned to go 125 mph... so about 1/2 of the straight away was me redlining my vehicle.

I still beat it easily.

Also, Top Gear Track without driving line = harder than nurburgring... FFS I can NEVER hit these lines right...

I played for hours to scrape under 1:18 only to see that there were literally hundreds of drivers under 1:15! My main problem was that it's too easy to transgress the accepted track boundaries

For those (like me) not just gifted as some players, and are finding hard to cut the last 0,5 -1,0 sec at Madrid with the Integra RM, and don´t want to use the walls to turn, just set the rear wing to minimum (5) keeping the maximum at the front (15) and the car will be much faster in the double left hander before the straight that leads to hairpin

I found all of these trials quite easy. The Monaco Drift Trial was much easier than I was expecting it to be.

After i beat these i gave this car a shot.

Mazda Kusabi concept (think thats it) I never drove it so what the hell.
250ish HP think 254 @ 800kg everything added no breakin
I beat madrid by .001 after 8laps

Managed to eventually post a time of 56:2xx in the Intergra RM at Madrid. I placed somewhere around 450 in the rankings. With a bit more patience I can probably get it into the high 55's on a totally clean run. Frustrating about the top runners really!

I tried using the walls, a lap who was 0,004s slower in the first intermediate that my fastest time, used wall in the second left hander, the next intermediate I was almost 0.8s faster! Aborted the lap right after that ;)

If people want to use the walls let them no point moaning we all know its not the way to race so if they can't beat us they need to cheat we all know we are better than them ranked 400 ish no wall banging I'm proud of that

Pedrocar is right, play with the downforce settings and you can get through the long left-hander in the middle of track just as fast as all the ***** who are cheating.

The big challenge is the last corner, I can't for the life of me figure out how to carry enough speed so as to keep up with the assisted wall drivers. However, I'm no top 10 driver, but I did manage a low 55 second lap, so hopefully it won't be long until most cheats will be removed. But getting down to 52 seconds for top spot, I'm not sure,

cheers mate, nice lap

yeah - in a down-tuned Nissan Race Car! I don't know why this annoys me, but it does.

Same here, its ridiculous!

Every TT: Detune LMP car with massive downforce and blitz the time - Boring! There are around 1050 cars but we see the same 50 every week!

Sort it PD, cap the engine power limiter to 5 - 10% of max power!

No matter what they do, there will be tons of complaints. It's the nature of GT5 players I guess. My preference would be same car for everyone.
