I am planing to buy a new pc, a pro one, i need to be able to put a lots on game on it with NO lags. I dont realy know things about pc's.. But i think alienware is a safe choise ? I was thinking about getting a aurora, i checked everything and with the best aurora custumization ( i think.. ) plus a 27"screen, keyboard, mouse etc, everything i need for a pc. I can get it for 5.600$, around 6.200$ taxes in. But as i say, i dont realy know pc's. Witch will be the best ? I just want a pc to play high games like bf4, the elder scrolls online, guild wars 2, arma 3, total war 2 and some racing games like gt and forza !

If some of you can help me it will be great ! :). Thank you!

Well firstly, you can't play forza or gran turismo on PC as they are console only.

Also, can you list the specs of the alienware you have selected?
Keep in mind that alienware will be much more expensive than just building a pc, its not very hard and you can choose the exact components.

well as i say I know nothing about pc, but i want a kit, like the screen keyboard etc. i checker cyberpower pc but they finaly cost more than alienware (if I was right ). I founded this site yesturday and looked at everything, but alienware was best i think again..

for the desktop :

2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3820 (10M Cache, Overclocked up to 4.2 GHz)
Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64Bit, English
16GB2 Q DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz
512GB SSD 6Gb/s MAIN + 1TB 7200RPM Storage
Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680 2GB GDDR5
No Monitor
2 Year Alienware Enhanced Support

but i can put more and change for better piece if i go in cuztomization.

just go to this page and go to cuztomizze and buy at the end of the page, fully to the right (the one at 3000$).I don't know if i build mine corectly for to be the best one, but maybe someone can help.

i also want windows 8, the best cooling fan, I want 3-4g for something, i think this thing are for the speed of the pc ? my brother told me something like that but I forgot what it was. but if someone do the build, just pick up the pc, ill do it after with the things you will say could be the best, and ill add the screen, keyboard, everything to it to see the price.

I am sorry for my english i speak french.. if someone could help it will be very cool. let me know what is best ! thank you :)

i just did it again and end up with this:

OPERATING SYSTEM Windows 8 Pro, 64-bit, English edit
MEDIA CARD READER 19-in-1 Media Card Reader edit
MONITOR Dell U2312HM 23-Inch UltraSharp™ Monitor edit
SOUND CARD Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio edit
OPTICAL DRIVE Dual Drives: BD Burn, DVD+

and this is thing that the pc already got :

Aurora Alienware Aurora Desktop
MEMORY 16GB (4 X 4GB) Quad Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz
VIDEO CARD Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 680 2GB GDDR5
HARD DRIVE 512GB SSD 6Gb/s MAIN + 1TB 7200RPM Storage
Adobe Reader Software No Adobe Reader Selected
CHASSIS Alienware Aurora with ALX Chassis
AVATAR Alienhead 3D

is this a " best pc build " ? it went for 5180$

I know you said you didn't want to build a PC, but seriously, after you watch a few videos you will be able to do it without a problem and save so much money.

I just put together a build that would far outperform that alienware in gaming, for only 3961.9 USD.

The specs are:
CPU: http://www.ebuyer.com/349026-intel-...b-cache-retail-boxed-processor-bx80637i73770k

MOTHERBOARD: http://www.ebuyer.com/363671-asus-s...-channel-audio-atx-motherboard-sabertooth-z77

GRAPHICS CARDS: http://www.ebuyer.com/480843-gainwa...isplayport-pci-e-graphics-card-426018336-2845 2 of these.

RAM: http://www.ebuyer.com/262586-corsair-16gb-1600mhz-vengeance-blue-memory-cmz16gx3m4a1600c9b

POWER SUPPLY: http://www.ebuyer.com/410789-corsai...um-high-performance-860w-power-supply-corsair

CASE: http://www.ebuyer.com/410548-fracta...itanium-pearl-usb3-window-fd-ca-def-r4-ti-win

SSD BOOT DRIVE: http://www.ebuyer.com/409850-samsung-250gb-840-series-ssd-mz-7td250bw

STORAGE HARD DRIVE: http://www.ebuyer.com/319639-seagate-1tb-barracuda-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003

Add some good quality fans and a sound card and you have yourself a PC that is far better than the alienware. It will be quieter, run cooler, more compact (you can always change the case to what you want) outperform the Alienware in every game. The list could go on, and for just a fraction of the price.

I highly recommend building it.

EDIT: I didn't realise that the price you quoted included the mouse, keyboard, monitor etc, but, from a very brief look on the same website I just quoted from, I think you could fit them in whilst still coming out with a lower price than the alienware, or maybe the same price, but again, with way way better performance.

I agree about the Alienware, you can build a better for less. With Alienware your paying extra for the name and cheesy looks.

Honestly, if you can read and take ESD precautions seriously, you can build a PC no problem. It's like big expensive Lego, except unlike Lego you can only put it together one way, so it's even easier than that...

I agree with building your own PC. When I built mines I was a bit skeptical since it was my first time but as what neema said, it's like putting together Legos. The difficult part though is organizing the wires.

The Tech Report has a nice video that gives you a survey of what it's like to build a PC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ea_bs5G1yYU

And here's the companion article: http://techreport.com/review/23624/how-to-build-a-pc

That may help you better decide whether you want to build your own PC or buy something rebuilt. I think building a PC can be fun, but it may not be for you. Obviously if everyone was comfortable building and supporting their own PCs companies like Alienware wouldn't exist.

Whether you build or have one built, here are a few generalities. I don't think you need a six-core processor. A quad-core i5 is a great gaming CPU. The i7 isn't really faster in today's games, but it's great for other tasks like encoding video or general multi-tasking. Either one can power a premium PC build. The video card is very important for gaming. Since you're new to PC gaming, you may want to look at AMD Radeon HD 7800 and 7900 GPUs, since you'll get a pretty nice selection of free games to get started. Also, don't skimp on the power supply. Get something powerful and reliable, with headroom to run dual video cards.

Ya i think ill build one, but I am not sure i dont want to **** it or break anything. Maybe i can order a pc from a gaming pc company that will upgrade the pc u want ? Like if the pc got a bad video card, i can choose another one ? Is it possible ?

I built my first PC after years of contemplating it. For a first timer, from the time I began assembly until I had a booted to desktop machine, I was rather pleased that it only took me 3 hours. It really is very easy. I'd highly recommend it. At this point, anything else feels like settling.
