Hellnback, you say you'd rather take on Road America than Sears Point. You've also said the same thing I usually say: "it's better than nothing." PunkRock sir, I have a good feeling that it will be the original course being used. I'd be surprised if they add the NASCAR configuation maybe for club racing. That's about maybe the only use for that NASCAR section which "wussifies" Sears Point. As I said, this track is one that will keep you on your toes as you're going left, right, left, right almost all the way. I don't think you can really go down a certain part of the track and not worry about staying straight like at Le Mans or someplace. If Gran Turismo was an exercise game, Sears Point would be a good way to work out.

Let's not forget Motegi's road course, my friends. It's about as pure of a race as its more prominent track, Suzuka. I think this is about the only Gran Turismo in history to feature some of the tracks the JGTC races on. I still wished that they would challenge Laguna Seca, but Fontana's road course is still a beatdown for any driver.

So I actually like both tracks. The only thing is that I don't have much experience with Motegi in games. Doesn't hurt to try something new though, right?

It'll be good to race Infineon raceway on a real racing game, not V8 supercar Race driver.
Also, will Motegi just be the road course or just the oval course, or both?

Dont forget people that gt4 will have different track versions, like Fuji has 2. It's possible we will be able to have drag races on the older version of that track.

Hi guys, don't worry for the pictures: the game isn't yet finished. What I see on the map is that this is a real great track. I liked Apricot and I think this might be something of the same kind (technically speaking)

In my previous post, I was of cours talking about Infineon. I don't know whether the drag-course would be interesting: 400m (or a 1/4 mile) is always 400m. So, if you have already the nice environment of Las Vegas, why should you race on this "empty", ugly environment?

I'd probly race on the Infineon track more cuz it has a waaay more traditional feel to it. The Vegas track to me looks like a street race.

I think it was mentioned in another thread, but the drag strip to Sears Point is modelled. Weirdly, I don't think it's used for the road course. Because when I raced Sears Point in the original NASCAR Racing game from Papyrus, I think it had the near and far lanes. I can't recall seeing any lightup boards there or something telling you your elapsed times (I'm sorry. Drag racing isn't my thing, so if you're going to hate, set me straight politely on what I'm talking about. Thanks!).

With Fuji, Suzuka, and now Motegi, I wonder how many more JGTC-raced tracks will be in GT4. Who knows? We may have ALL the courses they race including the first overseas round (Sepang), and maybe even some surprise courses like the brand-new Shanghai Circuit. And let me tell you. If you never seen how the Shanghai Circuit looks, it's pretty amazing- both to race and to gaze at. But to me, Asia's most premier track still has to be Suzuka in my view. But Shanghai has a bright future for it.

I thought the Shanghai track they were going to use was in the city CBD ...

Anyway, Elkhart Lake is a nice track, but I'm not sure of Road Atlanta (isn't that Petit Le Mans? ... dunno why they call it that, looks nothing lieka small version of Le Mans to me ...) as I've only ever seen it in pictures.

Hi guys! Isn't it a bit strange that that Volvo has its headlights turned on in the middle of the day? And look at this pic that was posted in another thread: http://news.gamebase.com.tw/News/images/16458-b8.jpg
Could that explain the day/night changes that where recently sugested in the new "Le Mans shortly confirmed"-thread? Or is it just someone who has been playing around in photoshop?

All the cars in Motegi's screens have light on.I think it's because there are 2 little tunnel on the track

Except for where the Road Track passes under the Oval Speedway, there are no tunnels at Motegi. Maybe it's just the time of day that the races are run at, like Cote d'Azur in GT3 that means they need headlights ...

You can't turn the lights of in a Volvo... unless you turn the ignition off. It's a safety feature.

I had an '85 740 and I was able to turn the lights off. My parents have also had a few different 240's and you could also turn the lights off on them. This may be a newer Volvo feature, or maybe that feature was not on the US cars?

Volvo headlights come on when you turn on the ignition, so they would be on.
Theyve had this feature for quite some time.
Some of the new mercs and Bimmers have automatic headlights that come on in the dark and tunnels also.

Usually its just the sidelights that automatically come on though, not all of them. I believe its law in Sweden that you must have some form of lights on even during the day. :)

It is just the side lights, and its damnd dangerous as Many times at night Ive nearly pulled out of a turning in front of a Volvo driver who hasnt bothered to turn on Headlights to half beam! urgh makeing them difficult to spot at blind corners or obscured junctions.

Does any one know of any other links to the pix posted at the start of this thread? - they're just 'red crosses' for me!

Yeah but those Volvos are driven by the Terminator himself :sly: "I see everything" (or to that effect)

Everything excep the lane markings!
Exactly what lane do Volvo drivers want? ;)

The pictures aren't from GT4.
Its from a pc game called "GTR".
I saw the pics at first and thought that it couldn't be GT4.
So I looked around and the pics are definiately from GTR.

Those aren't from gtr :| Even though those pics arent the best captures, they look too realistic to be from gtr. That's from gt4, plus gtr only has race cars in it.
