What the hell....That's the strangest thing I've ever seen with Firefox.

So, you manually went through and deleted everything you thought was junk?

Uninstall Firefox, reinstall and then use a proper program to do your cleaning, ala CCleaner.

Do a full uninstall of Firefox and delete the Firefox directory (C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/). Then reinstall and see what happens.

You should probably just uninstall Mozilla and then delete C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Mozilla

If you uninstall, delete that folder, and then reinstall, everything should be OK.

Oh, and before you do any of this, be sure to back up your bookmarks or you will lose them all.

Thanks that did it 👍, too bad for my favorites through, thanks guys for all your help, for a while there I was thinking I would have to go back to using IE.

Well, let's see. You could have saved the bookmarks by exporting them. If you go to the Bookmarks tab at the top of your window, you'll see Manage Bookmarks. Inside that you can go to File>Export, and save them to somewhere.

Also, FireFox has been suffering more than just this glitch. Every now and then, my Bookmark Toolbar minimizes itself to the left side of my screen, and I can't seem to un-minimize it. Also, if put under serious webpage load, FireFox straight up crashes for me. I don't really care though.

The reason that I use Mozilla 1.7.2. Nothing more annoying than doing some research, only to loose all the pages you were visiting.

And Mozilla loads at least as quick as Firefox for me.

Thats really weird, I've had virtually no problems with Firefox since I started using it.

Here’s another question, I've asked it before but I still haven't found the solution yet.

Well both my IE and Fire Fox .GIF animation won’t work firsts I thought it was nothing but now it’s just getting irritating. The only I can even see the smiles, avatars, etc, work is if I’m using the SBC browser, which takes forever and I try to use it as least as possible. I have tried setting every to default and nothing happens. Some people have told me to enable the cookies for the media and I did, still nothing happened. When I try to use google, and I want to disable the Safe Search thing it still says something about not having my cookies enabled when I did that already and I check many times. For some reason the GIF animations still don't even work for the fire fox, and this one I got fixed today, thanks to you guys.

Well if anyone can help me solve this mystery I would be more then thankful

P.S. The only thing this course has been good for is all this stupid ads on site wont show up, including on GT planet. It’s like an ad free browser.

Thanks again
-Mike

IE: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia > Enable Play animations in webpages

Firefox: Tools > Options > Web Features > Enable Load Images

Maybe you need to download some plugins, like for java and macromedia flash. Just a guess.

Well, it's in both browsers, so it's nothing to do with the individual browsers on their own. Try and Google search the problem, and maybe like FatAssBR said, find some downloads. Although it's unlikely that's the case. All I can tell you is to search some things on the internet and see if you can find similar problems.

By the way, Firefox is not just for Ad Free Browsing, it also renders pages a lot quicker (making it faster), is much more secure and is more frequently updated. But eh, that's not the discussion here I guess.
