For the best picture quality, why not just add a direct VGA output ( like with the Dreamcast ). A lot of people have computer monitors these days ( maybe more than HDTV )
The only reason while I'm waiting to replace my old Sony analog TV is for the release of PS3.

That's a good point. But did you know that the PS2 does in fact have a VGA output?

A)It's very likely that the PS3 will stick with only 2 controller ports to ensure seamless backwards compatibility with PS2. PS3 will almost certainly ditch Memory Cards in favor of Memory Sticks, as used by the PSP. The system will retain support for good ol' PS2 memory cards, however.

WTF? They´re going to make us buy multitaps again just because of some conflicts it might have with the PS2 games? That´s bull****!

I doubt this can´t be fixed other way, and even if it can´t, I don´t care! I will not play PS2 games after I have a PS3 on my room. The quality will be so higher, I will just lose the desire for PS2 games, just like it happened with PSOne after the PS2 came out.

It can,question is if it will.If it's causing too much heat at 4,6 Ghz they will simply reduce the clock speed.

Here are some more renders from EA Games.All of these are made with PS3 workstations so they pretty much represent the quality that we will be seeing in about 3 years time.

I just can't wait to see MGS with gfx like that.Or GT4.It's going to be awesome.

D*mn. IF that's what the PS3 games can look like, or have a chance to, then I want to see what the gaming industry will be like after 2010.

I still have hard time believing they didn't put four controller ports on PS2! Even the N64 and Dreamcast had four. Wake-up, Sony!

I found them myself at a German website, but don't remember the name of it. However, a Google search will most likely lead you to it.

First off no one has any development kits, they are working off of "expected specifications" that are non-disclosed to the public. And I doubt that the game will in fact look THAT good. Remember when Knockout Kings 2001 was shown as test images for PS2 and then we all found out that it wasn't what the game looked like?

Second, about the 4 controller ports. It's not worth the money for sony to do it, IMO.

They'll reap more benifits if they leave it out, so they will. If, and when, sony sets up their online network (as has been rumored) then they will be able to entice more people to play online rather than buy a multi tap to only play with three other people. The money is better made elsewhere, and off of internet services.

Hardware = Minimal profit.
Internet Service Fee = LOTS of profit.

It's easy to see why it won't be there. Is it right? No, but they have to keep their head above water somehow don't you think? Unless of course you want PS3 to be another Dreamcast....
