:lol: I don't know if you were able to read the article, but it's about the kids at the store, checking out 3rd party controllers. They tried out these controllers and they like them, but in the end, went home with their new Sony DS2s.

This article was really funny to me, because couple of months ago, I bought NYKO AirFlo controllers. I have one for my GameCube, and really like it, so I purchased one for the PSTwo. It sucks. I know I said that I don't like the Playstation controllers, but it's the only kind I use........ for now. Personally, I really liked the Dreamcast controllers. I wish the PS3 controller would be that type of design(I know, in my dreams).

P.S. I recently bought the PSTwo bundle with extra "Sony" controller, so I'm good for now.
 
No, I didn't read it, but I figured you'd dig it.

The PS3 will have redesigned controlers. Sony had a contest over a year ago to see who can come up with a new design. There were two rules, make it bigger and think more buttons. I can't wait to see if Sony went with a new design, or what. I love the current one, so I hope they don't screw things up.
 
The particularly good for driving games but in my opinion horrible for first person shooters. The x-box controller seems to be the opposite, wonderous at fps but not so great at driving games (partially because I don't like the throttle or brake controlled by the triggers or sticks, I like the pressure sensative buttons on the ps2.

This would be my second choice but a "box" is getting old... I'd head toward something with portability in mind. ;)
 
That thing is so ugly. The PS2 is the best looking game system I've ever seen, and the DS2 is the most perfect controller I've ever heald. I've heald quite a few.
 
There are so many versions of what the PS3 could look like.

I gave some info on the PS3 a few months back.

Anyways, even PSM has a version that looks ok.
But there is a way to tell if its a fake.

The PS3 will have the Memory Card ports, and only TWO controller ports.

Look for them. If a picture has more of these or none of these, it isn't it.

I love Playstations, but I really hate Sony for this. :mad: When I'm playing 1-2 player games PS2s' 2 ports are fine, but when I get together with bunch of friends, we start playing 4 players on my GameCube. We don't even bother with the PS2, even with an great game like GT4. Last time, GT4 lasted about 20 minutes, then we were hooked on Mario Kart DD(it's a great game in its own right) for next 3-4 hours. As long as Sony stick with the 2 controller ports, people will be peeking over at Nintendo & Microsoft IMO.

Yeah nintendos have always been the funnest 2-4 player systems, the games that come out for the nintendos are so fun to like mario kart and super smash bros. I hope sony looks into that area too i say this mainly because i have 2 brothers and a lot of friends, cousins and so on the come over and wanna play.
 
I'm calling it right now, "PS3" will not use the DS2, it would cost sony entirely too much money, lol.

As for what solid said about the contest, I highly doubt that sony would use any design from a contest to create a controller.

Both the original and the DS2 both had a lot of work done as far as ergonomic comfort, etc.

And while I can't comment on the Xbox or NGC controllers, to me, it doesn't seem like they did, lol.

But I just don't see sony using a "cool" design over an efficient one.

As for the 2 controller ports, yes it sucks, but hopefully HOPEFULLY this means they are leaning away from multiplayer in the house, and moving towards multiplayer online...if they are getting their act together on that side of the house.
 
looks like a projector... btu the box one looks nice. and solid lifters one looks like a mold of a fat guys ass with a partially melted super nintendo controller

Don't worry, it's a fake. It was made by the European magazine PSM. The American version of the magazine, PSM, had the PS3 that looked like a more real version. But, they weren't trying to pretend that it was the real PS3 like the European PSM did.
 
Homer, I made a thread which contained someone's question about the PSP games and PS3's being compatiable which sadly won't happen.
