*EDIT*
GTPlanet Touge Series

Im working on it now.... i should have all the rules and and regulations finished by tonight...

This is not regualted to drifters, but I figured you guys will have lots of intrests in it...
Quick Over-view:

It will be a touge race series....
Basic rules will be Simulation Tires are the only tires you can use...
There will be classes... Touge 200, Touge 300, and Touge 400
May eventually setup teams, FWD vs. RWD vs. AWD... but not for sometime.. i would like to also carry this over to GT4....

any input please post... i will have a setup in the online racing forum sometime tonight....

1st test w/ 4 very different cars... NA FF, NA MR, NA FR, Turbo FR....

Deep Forest:
198 HP ITR ~ 1.35:337
200 HP MR-S ~ 1.35:793
201 HP AE86 ~ 1.40:143
198 HP S13 ~ 1.37:480

obviously traction in the main factor here so suspension setup is key...

will doing these test i thought of some more rules.... ASM and TCS must be off... you are limited to 3HP over your class.. no more...

my main goal is to help nood drifters... finesse(sp.) w/ the throttle is so very important.... no al these turns are supoosed to be drifted either... duh.. touge is grip racing also...

Deep Forest:
1st test... Touge 200

198 HP ITR ~ 1.35:337
200 HP MR-S ~ 1.35:793
201 HP AE86 ~ 1.40:143
198 HP S13 ~ 1.37:480

2nd test... Touge 300 Class...

283 HP AE86 S.S. ~ 1.30:008
298 HP FD RX-7 ~ 1.28:909
293 HP CTR ~ 1.32:724 - understeer
295 HP S2000 ~ 1.30:131
299 HP Evo IV ~ 1.33:721 - understeer (no ayc or vcd) could def. have a better time...

3rd test... Touge 400 Class...

394 HP R34 GT-R ~ 1:28:189
389 HP Supra ~ 1:28:024
394 HP NSX-R ~ 1.27:232 - horrible run...lol
400 HP FD RX-7 ~ 1.26:461 the most stable car in both 300 and 400 classes... most fun to drive...

all these cars have all the drivetrain mods, racing suspension, sport brakes, stage 3 weight reduction, and most importantly SIMULATION TIRES...

yes, interesting idea.
the lighter cars are going to be at some advantage though
but i trust the formula that you set up will be fair

maybe consider putting a minimum weight rule into effect alongside the max hp rules you've already laid out for the classes. just a suggestion

hope to see the resident drifters at the top of the time sheets once this gets underway!
👍

Nice idea. Simulation tires and the DS2 make for a pain in the higher power classes. Oh well.

Overall, like the idea.

Maybe send it over to the OLR area and see what others think as well?

hehehe
I'm definitely game for this
those times could be much lower Exhaust Note
i ran a clean 1.30:442 in a 200hp class car with a DS2 (no chance of me unveiling what the car is yet)
and there's still room for setup improvement, I've only been running 20mins. I could probably get another 2seconds out of it

i would definitely suggest implementing a power/weight ratio limit or some cars will stand no chance of ever being competitive
👍

edit:
...or a spending money restriction might be an interesting concept to adopt to such a series. The Budget Touge Car. You could then fully lighten a car, but BAM! $30K gone
another suggestion....

i would like to know what u were using.. i know it wasn't one of those cars i used... and was asm and tcs off???

im thinking mini...

nope, not a mini
adhered to all regulations u posted
sim tires, driving aids off
(oh, and i bettered it to a 1.30:169 :sly: )

i'll catch you on aim to tell you

I just ran a few laps... how the hell are you that much faster? I'm not exactly slow in other things.

BTW... I think sports tires would be more proper, since we are simulating an actual race... and sim tires simulate like... less traction than the 14 inch all weather tires I had on a Tercel :p

I wanna see this car too... I'm guessing some feather weight like a ZZ-S or an Elise :p

thats the point of this, if u can drive fast on sims, you can drive fast on anything.... i can grip race good as hell w/ 400hp on sims....

i may be interested in this, cant wait to see the final setup rules etc.

budgeted cars would work a lot better.

and what is an ITR?

good good, but we still need more drifters in there

right now i'm getting my ass served to myself on a silver platter by Small_Fryz and Azuremen. And as far as I'm concerned, i'm not a slow guy

my T200 is into the mid 1'28 region on Deep Forest, they're both in mid 1'27 territory

People, head on over there. Be cool if we could get some of you guys into timed events as well, might create a bit less  and :dunce: between various parts of the forum... :D

At the moment though, the top spots are being held by WRS racers... you guys need to represent 👍

Its called the honr system.. and the WRS has used it forever. Extreme times can be called into question, and analyzer data can confirm them (You wanna fake all that sector information?? Or even attempt to?)

Thats that, no go do sme runs. Smallz and I are the bench marks... with two different cars... so see how you stack up

lol, sorry, I was running a bit late to meh class on that eariler comment

Its pure racing... the only thing that counts is your lap time. That is it. You can get there how ever you want to
