Here is my new simulator from www.hyperstimulator.com. I have painted it royal blue and just added the decals. Lots of V8 Supercar and some F1 drivers own and train with these!

Here my new simulator from Hyper. I have painted it royal blue and just added the decals just have to add the redbull pinstripes down the side's!

I've been looking at one of these...
2 questions,
Do they allow much range in movement? IE: do you knock your elbows?
And is the seat at all comfortable?

Yes you see the pedals they are on rails and move forwards and backwards the same with the steering. Mine has the elbow covers fitted and they are molded to fit your elbows nicely. The seats also contoured to your bodyshape so you basically slide straight into it like a real formula car

Very nice! Only one problem. It is a red bull :) j/k

Is the seat padded? It looks like a hard plastic? Where did you get this?

Again, very nice!

Did you get the challenger racer version with the black fiberglass? What did it set you back after taxes?

Yes I got the challenge model and also got the options - fibreglass healplate
fibreglass elbow covers and the steering/pedal brackets. Cost me AU$1189 including shipping. Then another $80 to prime and paint it ( its mdf wood dont need sanding and very smooth ). The basic kit is $645 plus $165 for the steering/pedal brackets

I've seen your DFGT mod (having cut off something off of the wheel) - does it still work well with hatchback cars? Did it changed the handling for the better?

Yes I cut out the middle section because from the sitting position i couldnt see the digital readout on the wheel now I can. Also looks more f1 ish now I think

I guess my real question is could I drift with it and not have to wear elbow pads?

Ah, makes sense. Did you use a simple jigsaw or something special?

I'm thinking of modding my DFGT as well and might want to give it a new coating but I'm not sure what I want to do exactly yet. :ouch:

So assume you were using the seat for an extended period of time, say a full GP distance or a full stint at Le Mans, do you think you would still be comfortable in the seat? My issue is after a while my tailbone will start to hurt from the reclined F1-ish position I sit in the old office chair I drive from. Obviously the chair isn't designed to be sat in like this and the cushion is very worn out, I really want something I can sit in in this position in comfort.

I stay in for for 2 hrs sometimes and im fine. You could get some padding to put on the seat if you wished. They also come fully fitted out with leather trim if you want to fork out the $350 extra
