looks a lot better than the old kit car, nothing wrong with healthy competition heh bugatti? lol
For me, the Bugatti will be in a class of its own. They achieved their goals by thrusting what is essentially, a big 4,000lb. brick to 270Mph with full creature comforts & the ability to be daily driven at will.

This car is going the way of Koenigsegg, primarily setting up large statistics before getting the car out on the circuit. Koenigsegg, however, stopped themselves & end up making a car that was stupid fast, but able to do other things exceptionally well.
Which is what's so great about it. I especially like the exhaust area, looks like it's concealing two turrets.
I'm undecided if I like it or not.

Daaaaaaamn, woo.

It's like he looked up the old Ford GT90 concept and said, "You know what? That was pretty cool. I think we could make it better. Plus, it will be powered by dilithium crystals, and dual fore and aft phaser banks. Just for the hell of it."

I'll take mine in Titanium Grey with a big ol' blue pinstripe and a "NX-01" badge on the side just for the hell of it. I feel like this is what Kirk drives on the weekend.

Same here. It looks very american to me and at the same time very un-american. It looks french but with random, american cues(don't ask which cause I can't pintpoint it) that almost ruin the whole thing. SSC went from the awfully ugly with the Aero to the weird and very WTF with this thing.

I don't like it, it looks too futuristic concept wanna-be, it doesn't look muscular enough like an American supercar should, and the rear end looks like it's packing a giant pair of gonads in a bad way.

Front looks aged to me reminds me of later 80's concepts like the Oldsmobile Aerotech with modern headlights

9,000 RPM from a twin turbo 6.8L V8?! Dear god I wanna hear that!

oh dear the front looks awful!!! spoke too soon.

You do know the picture you quoted is not the SSC right? It's an Oldsmobile concept car from a few decades back.

Haha, no as Paulie said thats a Oldsmobile Aerotech concept from the 1980's I was using as a example, this is the apparent front:

Apparently this is it. I can't find any better quality pictures. It looks great to me though if this is real.

:rolleyes:oh dear! sorry guys, was in a rush and sort of just...assumed it was the ssc, the real one looks decent actually:p still not there for me yet though. SSC are kind of saying 'anything you can do we can do better' which takes the micky tbh

1350hp? Seems like they just scraped this together to try and beat the Bugatti again. Seems like SSC is only making cars to set top speed records, rather than to sell. How many SSC Aeros have sold ever?

Not a whole lot. The Ultimate TT "reportedly" has around a dozen different models seen, but I haven't gotten anything more than that.

This company has potential & is proving it can still keep its head a float. But it desperately needs to build a car that can do more than go fast, ala as previously mentioned, Koenigsegg's route after the CCR.

whether it's me or not i prefer the mclaren f1, bugatti veyron and koenigsegg ccx to the old aero. They were more than fast cars, they were good cars.

No doubt there. The Aero didn't even get a nice interior or decent features until the TT model. I believe Leno, though, did credit the car for actually being pretty tame under usual driving & that the engine managed to remain at amazingly cool temps. compared to other supercars.

1350bhp?

The Veyron, uses a Ricardo custom gearbox, developed by a enormous team of engineers and made to hold all the power to the engine and to last 20 years. I wonder what will be tranny used in the all new SSC Aero.

Also, I love the way it looks, it's much more a cross of Enzo front, Gallardo side profile and a futuristic rear that you would only expect from a Lexus or Mazda concept. Just a minus for the alien balls, but that must be there for aerodynamical purposes, I'd imagine.

Flat and straight lines, running from the front to the the rear end, I would call that Gallardo, the roofline isn't similar, neither is the tall front wheel arches and the enormous bottom vent, but still resembles something lamborghini'ish to me. Just connect the lower beltline to the the taller one and voi lá.

Also, I wear glasses all the time, so don't take my judgement so seriously. :dopey:

If anything at all, I'd say it's more Ferrari P4/5 than a Gallardo.

I think it looks like a zonda from the sides and a ferrari f430 but somehow backwards on the front. Kind of hard to explain the front.

Power? 1,350 horses, every last drop of which will be needed to hit the targeted top speed of 275 mph.

... Overall, the car weighs about 2,600 pounds ...

Now it only needs to drop this ridiculous top speed record fever, and it might become one of the most iconic cars ever built. Seems like SSC finally got the hang of doing hypercars after all these years.

...until they finally beat the Veyron for top speed and sales. That thing is a slight atrocity to my eyes though. I don't like it, I wouldn't want one. I would probably take the engine out if they gave me a free one and put in something more subtle. And maybe hire someone to re-do the exterior. Seriously, it's just a giant souppot of other cars put in one with an unbelievable engine that still won't get much rep. Then again, I'm a bigger fan of Enzo's and F1's, hence my point above.
