New SUV?

To be fair, though, I don't care at all. You are correct in that I didn't pay attention to what he asked for. His exact words were this:

"We're looking for somthing around the 35k range, slightly more or less. It needs to seat at least 7."

I recommended the Mercury Mountaineer and Chrysler Pacifica, which are both around the $35k range and both seat seven, his only criteria.

You seem to think that if anyone were to pick anything other then the Mountaineer that you proposed, then they'd be wasting their money on a "less then ideal" vehicle. The guy wanted suggestions, not to be told that he should only go for one particular vehicle.

359, he's not forcing the mountaineer on this guy, he just suggested it saying that the pacifica would also be a good choice but the Merc has a slight advantage.

It's interesting that you should say that, because I recommended three:

"Go get a Honda Pilot EX-L, Mercury Mountaineer 4.6 AWD, or Chrysler Pacifica AWD. They're some of the best SUVs ever and a perfect choice for what you're looking at."

The only reason the Mountaineer kept coming up was because people seemed stunned that I'd recommend such an 'oddball' choice - Sage first, then you who said it wasn't attractive. Then TF spoke up and said he liked the Mountaineer.

I don't recommend the above choices equally, but you can't go wrong with any of them, so there's no sense discussing one more than another - it just happened that way.

I'm not really sure what your definition of "comfortable" is but if were talking minivan how bout the New MPV? It's got good power, plentiful features, cheap for what you get, good quality, seats 7 and looks good (to me at least).

The MPV is under-rated, but if one can afford a Quest, Odyssey, or Caravan 3.8, there's no reason to opt for the Mazda.
