new to modding a ps2 anyone got hints

hey. im a new member here. i was reading earlier about a guy trying to decide what kind of mod chip he should get for his PS2. i too would like to know which is best priced, best value, best reliablity. Many of the sites ive looked at tell me that i should have my system modded professionally. I rather not spend close to 80 bucks of some gomer that installs the chip in 5 mins. Its also a ego thing and possible thing i wanna start on. yes turn into a gomore (no really just install chips). ok enough chit chat. on a scale of 1-10 10 being the easiest how hard is it really???? thank you all for your time.

It definitely isn't easy. I used a 1 wire modchip which isn't very good, but there are others with significantly more wiring (plus cutting of tracks which are downright tiny.) Here are a few pics to give you an idea of the scale.
The first pic I actually had to redo because I connected 2 tracks. The second is a wire that wasn't as hard as the things I circled. You needed to solder to the sides of one of those things but couldn't touch the other)
My suggestion is to get it done by someone that has a strong background in wiring electronics or soldering.

thank you all for the help. ive been soddering for a long time now. so i dont think ill have much of the problems. but with your advice i may have someone else that has been soddering things together to do it for me. again thank you all.

If you had been soldering for a long time you would probably know how to spell it. Just have someone else do it.
 
lol. thank you tom for your input. you know as earlier as it was when i wrote that i didnt care. 2 am isnt not a good time to ask important questions and is a really bad time to spell. but thank you for your 2 cents.

oh yeah ill do my own soldering and please keep the negative crap out of your posts there are no reason for it.
