G'day all, I've always been a fan of Nissans since I first started driving the 1994 Maxima my parents gave me as my first car (They called it an extended loan) Unfortunately, that car is now in a pile of junk thanks to some dumb guy who didn't know how to look both ways before pulling out into the road. He had his license for 1 month. Anyway, the was replaced with an '01 Acura 3.2CL, but I didn't get to take it with me to college. Instead, it goes to my sister, who doesn't have her license and all she talks about is getting a radar detector so she can speed. If I sound bitter, it's because I am. The s14 platform hadn't really caught my eye until I was looking through an Import Tuner magazine at work and I saw the "Better Than SX" article, this car was a beaut... If any of you have seen the article I'm talking about, you know what I'm saying. Up to this point, I had already been a Skyline freak (what car guy isn't?), this fascination soon sprouted into anything that had a SR20DET, RB25DET, or RB26DETT engine in it. Since Skylines are in short supply in the US ($30k-$125k from MotoRex) I switched to a more realistic car to own, the S14. So, this summer, I begin my quest for the dream in my head that I simply call "Darksaber", a gunmetal s14 sr20det "Disco Potato" turbo upgrade with an Edge body kit (I want it to look like the 270R) bronze 6 spoke Nismo wheels and a Nismo decal job. Understated beauty. There is so much more I want to do, but at this point I'm still learning. So, I continue to research and read. Though I don't own a s-platform vehicle, nor have I ever owned one, I aspire to. This is why I want to be in the Silvia Fan Club.
