pics coming next week, garage is coming in october if all goes to plan.

im thinkin that we'll be releasing about 15 setups opening day, maybe more but at least 15 so ya'll have something to chew on for awhille.

sunday evening sound good? and who's doing the verification? we need volunteers to battle it out with the pony cars!! who's down to try each of the three mini muscle's and report back their times at infineon sports car course, the vegas drag strip and laguna seca?
Hey GT40 if you want to see some of my work, look into my locked garage thread, there's a few setups at the top including two vipers, my answer to the skyline. i hope you have good throttle control...

Dave, we don't need volunteers. We post a time, no editing of said time, on Wednesday. On OUR forum. I'd like to stop confusing the hell out of everyone here.

uhh what? no one told me that..

there's still no harm in people trying the tunes as long as they post the times back here so that we get an indication of who's is most driveable across a range of drivers. or just to see what turns up;)

and with that here's my z28's tune:

Notes: This car is much faster as a manual, you have to take the rpms up to between 6300 and 6700 which is well after redline, you lose about 30% of your powerband as an automatic.
At the dragstrip, launch the car at 3800 give or take to minimize tire spin, but stutter the nitrous in when you hit second and hold the bottle on all the way to the finish line, the car is easily in the low 12's, i've taken it to an 11.5.
At the road courses, the only thing i can warn everybody of is, be easy coming out of the corners in first and second, the car will spin the rears if you push too hard. other then that the car is nimble, fairly quick with good top speed(190 ish, over 200 with nitro) and is well rounded.
Keep in mind the multipurpose nature of the car, it is both drag and autox oriented, it doesn't do either as well as it could but everything was a compromise between drag setup and auto x setup. Despite all this,, this car has potential, throught the turns it's QUICK, if you can maintain speed (i.e. hit your line) this car will reward you with impressive times. I can't write enough about this car! It has surprised me time and time again.

whoa my bad, i had to clean out my inbox and i honestly didn't remember.
if you add my spray at 40 hp, to my total hp of 520, im within ten hp of you, since i did remember you said to shoot for 500 hp..

Yes, but he is at a severe disadvantage with the Z28. Especially considering that the SS can make more power and actually weighs LESS. (69 v 69)

How what will turn out?

The War?

PSD?

PSD=dead. A brew is storming, err, a storming is brew... Err, however you say it.

psd has been long dead but your uncanny ability to find my buttons and push them is alive and well.

The z-28 isn't at a disadvantage cause it doesn't have more power, all it's power is where it should be up top. 500 hp to 500 hp the z ought to destroy your couger on a nuetral course, instead of your home course. and i really do mean 500 to 500, not 520 to your 556 which after my nitrous is only 4 less then me but you have it all the time, and 40 was a typo on my part i checked the tune and it was 35 which means that on the bottle, i only match your 10% heavy power. i honestly thought twice about maxing the power but after lookin at the course list, i thought i'd push the envelope, really kyle, to make the rules and then break them, you ought to be a politician buddy:lol:

The Camaro is OUT! Neither '69 can make more than 520hp! Dang!

I'm recalling to my 520hp 90k car. (Seriously, the car cost 90k total to build.)

Vince will HAVE to run stock weight, I guess. I say 520hp or thereabouts, weight to 1300? You can drop to 1225 as you have 490hp. My 520 is at 1290kg, IIRC.

This is the only way to even it, and this makes it EVEN, with me at a disadvantage to Rockit with my weak chassis and big block. And I will not hack back into this car. (No 50k refresher for me!) It's set for a challenge. Different setup, maybe. New parts, no. 10kg ballast in the trunk and call it a day.

Sound good?

so, what you're saying is that we have to do more work, and you have to do nothing?

I don't want to redo the Shelby event for a new 'Stang, So I think it's better to drop the juize(hp)...

Rotary: 520/1290 = 0.40
Me1: 490/994 = 0.49
Me2: 390/994 = 0.39

Me2: 'Stang with NA Stage 1.

No!

Daaang! I tuned for full weight drop as well. I will ditch power to Rockit's level. You need to drop to 430, it seems, to stay at the same weight.

I'm thinking about running a blower.

EDIT: Down to 524hp. Good?

Well, it's just that I have been running at minimum, and going up to 1300kg would hurt me.

Let's see what you can get.

now THIS is what it ought to be and props to kyle for not rising to my returned jabs, proud of you boss.

equal power to weight ratios turns this into a fun challenge, and clears up grey ares in the last challenges rules.

honestly less power will probably help my times, i had to gear the car down a tad more then i wanted to and being able to hook and keep it in it's rev range more means more speed for me!

neither of the camaro's is a big block as both of you know, i dunno what engine the shelby has but ought to be a 302. kyle you ever think about running a cuda? big block with ALOT more power potential at the expense of a good powercurve. what else qualifies a a pony car? you do have a disadvantage in a big block that can't push the power that helps it out. are there other cars that qualify as pony cars??lets see mustang and camaro's obviously, you COULD run an SS if you like, gets you a smalblock. all the other cars are full size muscle cars like the charger.

Wikipedia tells that the engine in the GT350R was a modified K-code 289ci Windsor V8 with special "Cobra" valve covers, triple Y headers, a special intake manifold and Holley carburetor. The power was increased from 271 to 306 hp (162 to 228 kW).

'Cuda's not really a pony car, and I'm pro Ford, pro-fat mans car. And I love 390s. So the Cougar makes a lot of sense.

Oh, and I have 650-700hp available at my command.

Greycap: Sounds about right. Except there was an available supercharger for the normal GT350.

The GT 350 in the game is indeed a 289 (4736 cc).

I believe most people considered the Barracuda to be a pony car (myself included). The Trans Am series was pretty much a pony car series.

that's true and while it's a tad large for pony car, it has the pony car style and was marketed to a niche of people that wanted that style plus a full size cars interior space and engine. but it's cool just remember YOU chose the big block car, it's not on us if you don't dig the weight distibution.

uhh what weight should i be shooting for? and what power? i need to start re tuning.

try to get matching power to weight ratio with Rotary, I guess.

520/1205 = 0.43

I'll get some working on my 'stangs pwr/weight.(finally got some time:))

Edit:

Shelby Mustang G.T. 350R '65

460 HP
1077 kg
pwr/weight: 0.43
0-60: 5.2 s

nope, not supercharged, It's just NA Stage 2. :embarrassed:
Supercharged = 490 hp
NA Stage 3 = 510+- hp

So can you find something familiar to the 0.43 pwr/weight ? I'd say you put weight reduction stage 3 and then see which hp is sufficient. :)

Edit: in the game guides section I came up with this:

Chevy Camaro Z/28 '69
Weight 1415 kg

meaning with standard weight you'll need a whoppin' (1415 * 0.43 =) 608 hp!

Yah, I gotta get a Laguna time nailed too.

We toss down the times on, ehh, the 15th on our forum. Then I'll make the thread and such.

Mokay is cool, my plate also is overfilled this week...
Sunday I'll be with much time on my hands, so the 15th is cool.:)
