Hey guys, I am confused right now and don't know which TV to get.

The options I have right now is to get a 51inch plasma TV, but not 1080P, 768 I think. The other one is a 40inch LED FULL HD.

I read that for gaming plasma is better, but I can't find a full HD plasma here. Both are Samsung and 3d btw.

What do you think?

Just added another one.

LG 60PN6500 60 inch (full HD) plasma
Samsung F4500 51 inch (not full HD) plasma
Samsung F5000 40 inch (full HD) LED

IS it true plasma is better for gaming due to higher refresh rates? I have a 50inch samsung but not full hd that's why I'm considering a full hd plasma

It already has a 50 inch plasma, a 60 will be fine there, have lots of space. The problem is I'm in Egypt and there isn't quite the collection here, that's why I have to choose from different sizes

I'll go with LG.

They just look better than anything, and Samsung disappoint a bit.

Also, 1080p with that size is just unnecessarily large, If I were you I'll go with a 42" LED LG 3D.

Yah I'm leaning towards a smaller one, just cause they're cheaper. What about plasmas being better than LEDs? never tried gaming on an LED

I'm with a Samsung LED 1080p 32" and I love it so far, but the LG 3D smart TV takes the cake (something I kinda regret).

As far as plasma goes, I had a 42" Bravia, and LED look better, but it all depends in the model and so on.

I'll go look at the LG in the store, I might not get a 3D though to lower the price a bit. Thanks a lot for the advice

I would also go with LG.

Plasma's give the best picture and refresh rates, just be mindful of the image retention and burn in.

Panasonic TC-P50S60 - Currently probably the best Plasma for gaming; 700-800$; 50".

Totally support the suggestion.

Waheed and Robin, it's not refresh rates that inform plasma superiority though, only pc monitors have higher native refresh rate options.

That Panasonic has a really nice filter that I'm quite sure they acquired when buying some of Pioneer's patents. I'm not sure how they are going with image retention and burn in though. The last Panasonic plasma I had extensive experience with was part of the 2011 series and it was still a problem then. I have never had any hint of retention let alone burn in on my Pioneer, so hopefully they have bought and used that tech as well.

That was cnet.com's accidental burn in test for last years's models.

The Panasonic does have a pixel orbiter though, and if retention/burn in are not going to be an issue due to wise usage and/or the orbiter, it's absolutely the best buy.

@Waheed
Worth mentioning that Panasonic plans to stop production at some point in this month.
Panasonic will no longer produce any plasma TVs! So if you want one, you better don't wait too long.

@LeMansAid @dr_slump Unfortunately I am in the Middle East, I don't have many options and that Panasonic is not available here. I gave up on the plasma, can't find a Full HD one that is nice, there are many plasma but HD ready. Now I am thinking about the Samsung LED F6100, the 46 inch, it has a 200hz as samsung says so thats about 120hz right? What do you think?

jumia.com appears to have the 2012 Panasonic models. Anything above 50/60hz is useless, it's just going to add lag due to processing. But I wouldn't go near an lcd anyway.
