Is there any new wheel that will be released soon in a near future? Or should I (well, recommend it for my friend) buy the Thrustmaster T500 RS now? He also wants the TH8RS shifter but (he likes to drift irl) is there any handbrake to buy on the market?

Why not TX instead of T500RS? Once three pedals come out, it should be even better wheel due to brushless motors, allthough don't know that much about Thrustmaster wheels.

The TX uses a brushless motor. Runs cooler, quieter (well, the fan is quieter because it's cooler), and doesn't experience cogging like the T500RS.

I've looked around now and can't see any new wheel coming in the near future that will be a top end wheel.

Also, I think the best wheel on the market is following:
CSW wheel: 450 euro
BMW GT2 rim: 250 euro
Clubsport v2 pedals: 250 euro

Anyone agree (or not) with me?

Well you have not mentioned anything about the price. Real top end wheels are servo wheels and those cost more than 2000€$£ and hydraulic pedals that may be available for about 800 but also may be over 1000. Anyway, real top end is many times more expensive than Fanatec setup.

Okey, maximum around 1000 euro in total.

If I was you I would seriously consider the TX.

The main question is what is he using the wheel for? If it's for PC then yes the TX is awesome. And for the person that said it's not as powerful go watch Inside Sim Racing review on the TX. He says on PC the T500RS may be a slight bit stronger but not much at all.

T500RS is noticable stronger. Some don´t care for it though particularly those running smallish 280 mm rims I suspect but my larger rims the T500RS do a better job with in regard of ffb.

Now overall I would say I preferr the TX it´s just so much smoother and has less internal resistance and lower drag but on bigger rims it´s lack of torque is making it a less clear cut actually.

Well I stand corrected then. I'd love to have both by the way.

The CSW was supposed to be the homerun wheel that brought us blue collar racers a taste of what the high end racers and pro teams are using. It ticks all the right boxes on performance, build quality, aesthetic beauty and most importantly, its affordable (relative). It however has an major achilles heel... RELIABILITY. I'm like you, I've been looking forever and still can't decide what I'd buy either. Sorry I couldn't offer a suggestion

To be honest, all that stuff above looks too much plastic/weak and if you have the budget of 1000€ I would go with the Fanatec CSW Base V2 and a nice Rim you like. I actually own the Fanatec Porsche GT2 Wheel and even that wheel looks better than those Thurstmaster Plastic stuff. The T500 Rim looks better than that TX plastic bomber. I also have the Clubsport Pedals and they are worth the money. Using them (and the wheel) for over 3 years now and never had any problem.

In reality the build quality (tolerances) of my T500RS is better than my GT2. My GT2 has some horizontal play in the shaft which has been looked at and found to be within normal tolerances by Fanatec. Furthermore while the GT2's alcantara looks good, I personally had difficulty with the ergonomics of the big thick GT2 rim and cross bars. Thrustmaster's rubber coated rim may feel worse but it's much more comfortable.

Just saying that looks aren't everything :)

Yeah I know technically the Thrustmasters are better. And about the looks, yeah, its a matter of taste. And as I said, the T500 one looks good. But the rim of that TX looks damn too much like plastic.

The stock TX wheel has too much plastic, but the wheel base is outstanding and surpringly, you don't notice the plastic nearly as much as you would think because of where you actually touch the wheel.

I agree. I would love to pick up the GTE 458 rim but now with Clubsport V2 coming out sometime I'm saving for that.

If the Fanatec CSW v2 is reliable, it sounds like a good wheel.
Ya no doubt. They say that was one of their main focus points. I'd rather get one wheel that works for PS4 and Xbox One both instead of having to buy another wheel.
