Yeah, I'm running MacOS 9.2.1, at home anyway. I'd be running OSX at work if I had a choice about it.

Have they finally worked all the bugs out of OSX yet? I heard it was pretty buggy with it's first release, but far more stable than it's OS9 and earlier versions...

Yes, the first release version of OSX had some bugs and would occasionally go into a kernel panic. But Windoze magazines to the contrary, OSX was not really bug-ridden; certainly not compared to the number of service packs, patches, etc. that accompany the release of a whole new version of Windows.

OSX 'Jaguar', or 10.2 if you want a version number, is very stable, offers some improved features, and has a substantially snappier interface than the original OSX release.

I've never really had stability problems with the Mac at all, with the exception of running Netscape (which is still more stable than Internet Exploder was). Certainly my G4 running 9.2.1 is stable and stays up for weeks at a time, with occasional restarts just for good measure.

Well that's good news. Prior to XP's release, I was seriously thinking of dumping my M$ compatible system and selling my wife and kid so I could get a dual-G4 for my audio/video processing needs. I don't read windoze mags, but do have frequent discussions with other Mac users on the audio/video side of productions, mainly with the ProTools/Avid systems. The PC side of things still arn't where the Mac's are in terms of audio/video, but their getting closer, which is a good thing for those who don't have deep pockets full of gold. Things are looking up for the serious PC user..:)

I am, however, in the market for a PowerBook that I can interface with a small mic preamp that will allow me to do some (Live), digital, 4-track recordings directly into ProTools that I can then dump into my PC based computer/studio for mixing and production. Just gotta find the budget for it.

:)

I just happen to be running Mac Os 9.2.2. not as great as Os X but my computer is too old for it and i dont have the cash for a brand new tower. its pretty stable for the most part.... with the exception that i need more ram. Anybody wanna send money to the Matrixhasu77 fund? just kidding.
