Really? Loading speeds have been very fast for me. Is there any specific page which you have found consistently slow? Has anyone else noticed a change in speed, for better or worse?

Is there supposed to be a 1,000 character limit on Social Group messages now?

Hmmm, I must have overlooked that new feature. I see why it's there, though I've bumped it up to 1500 characters now.

I've noticed that while the main news page works, there's a 404 error when you try to access a single entry, its comments, a category (like "Gran Turismo 5" or "GT Academy"), or any older posts. Is that something you already knew and haven't been able to fix yet, or is it a surprise?

You nearly gave me a heart attack when I learned about this this morning, but thanks very much for bringing it to my attention so soon. Anyways, as you noted, it has been fixed now.

Figure I would just add to this thread.

When I try and upload a picture for my avatar from my hard drive I get an "Unable to save" message. I even tried avatar's I have had in the past and it still wouldn't work.

This issue was also affecting profile picture uploads. Both features have been fixed and should function normally.

What's with the "Your message will not appear until it has been approved by forum moderators"?

I've made some changes to the configuration of the new server so that I'm now receiving bounced email messages delivered by the forum. I gathered the addresses that bounced last night and demoted all of the accounts to our "Unconfirmed Email Addresses" user group. This requires people to update their email address before they can continue to use the site. It looks like your email address was out of date and was affected by this. As soon as you confirmed a new email address, you should have returned to the Premium usergroup.

I think he meant the "Premium and mod only" forum - as in The Infield is only available to those two user groups.

It was for about 15 minutes earlier. Not really slow, just worse than the normal speed on here. No problems now. About 3-4 hours ago.

It took about 15-20 minutes after I had confirmed my email for my PM's and my Premium status to show back up. I even had to have my posts accepted by a Mod. Everything is cool now though.

At first I was taken by surprise when I clicked on my homepage and saw that the Social Groups all had boxes with a question marks in them,took me a second or two,then I realized what you had done.

I spoke to GTP_ENERGIYA (owner of The Holden Fan Club) and he didn't even know there was a change until I pointed it out to him. That means the 1,000+ messages that were in The Holden Fan Club must have been deleted by a glitch in the change over or maybe even a moderator perhaps. Either way, I realise it's almost certainly impossible to get them back, but I thought I'd bring it to your attention anyway just in case you wanted to look in to it.

Nope, the software clearly documents who deletes what, and it listed his name. He may not have deleted it, but I have no idea how or why something like that would happen erroneously. Regardless, nothing is really "deleted" from the forums, they just don't appear to the public. I can still see them and have "undeleted" them now so they should be available.

I also was informed that attachments could not be uploaded - this has now been corrected as well.

Thanks Jordan. I don't know what happened then either, normally ENERGIYA is a pretty good bloke and wouldn't have any reason to delete the messages, so if he said he didn't even know there was a change let alone delete messages then I believe him. Thanks for getting it back anyway, and also for fixing attachments.👍

I have a question about the social group change.

On my homepage there are boxes with question marks in them and underneath each box is the name of the Social Group.I belong to 8 Social Groups,7 of them are the boxes with a question mark inside and 1 of them actually has a picture inside the box.I don't understand why only 1 of them has a picture ? I re-read this thread and did not come up with a conclusive answer as to why this is,or did I miss something ?

^ I might be completely wrong, but I'm thinking that the owner of the Group, and the mods, have the permissions to change the image. Give it a go on the Dark Side (of the moon).

In the grand scheme of things, this is meaningless, but I suppose it contributes to the overall impression of how neat the site looks: in the green text describing when and by whom a post was last edited, there are now two periods following the AM or PM. I'm sure you have more important things to fix, Jordan, but I imagine this would be a simple problem to remedy.

Are you sure about that? I just posted a 1500-character message without any problems. Regardless, I went ahead and disabled the limit altogether - it's not worth troubleshooting any more.

A group will, of course, only have a picture if the group owner sets one.

I've fixed the photo album uploads, so this should work for you now.

Well I have not seen anything about this on the forum, but I am not getting email notifications to replies on my subscribed threads. I can see new posts on those threads from my user panel, but no emails notifying me they have been replied to.

Have you checked your options to ensure it's still enabled? Go to "My GTPlanet" and find "Edit Options". Check there.

Well, I'm afraid you've stumped me, then. I double-checked the option, and posted another 2,000 character message with my Premium test account with no problems. You could try clearing your cookies. Does anyone else experience this?

Yes, that is probably the first thing I checked.

There's lots of strange things going on with email from the server now - I would check your spam or junk mail folders. I'm working to get this resolved soon, but hopefully you can find them there for now.

Vash, are you looking in your Gmail spam filter, or are you having the messages forwarded somewhere else?

Just looked a little closer and instead of being put into Junk E-mail, it was being put into Spam. Seems a bit redundant for Gmail to have both a Junk E-mail and Spam, but that is beside the point (figured that one out).

Before the server change, I did not have this problem. Now I have to figure out how to get the email off the spam list.

Yep, I'm limited to 1000 characters in the social groups as well.

Ugh, I just realized I've been adjusting the character limit on visitor profile messages, not social group messages. No wonder you weren't seeing any changes! Sorry about that, it should be changed now.
