Can anyone help me?

I have just installed a new NETGEAR wireless Router Modem, and now my msn transfers are at around 3k a second :(

uPnP is turned on but its still really slow.

Please help.

Where have you placed the Wirless router, plus what kind is it. Is it a Wireless router A or G, another thing you can buy better antennas for the router.

To well boost the strength.

To be honest, and speaking from experience... Netgear is one step up from crap.

In the past 4 months, I've had 3 bad ones. and it looks like my fourth one is failing.

It may not be your settings, but the router itself.

Have you tried the access without any encryption, and just an open link? Also, it may be your card settings.

Thats right, i haven't quite figured out the forwarding thing. But I did setup to allow all outbound communications. It seems to have worked, even though I was receiving the file, not sending it.

DQuaN where is it placed, also this router is good. Its the BT Voyager 2100.

I have this router, and always had good speeds from it. It also always had a strong strenth aswell.

*Cries* The voyager really is that BAD..
Honestly, on a 1mb connection im currently getting download speeds tops of 11kb/s

I was just about to mention you and your router, impreza

I've heard problems with netgear too.

I have useless msn file transfer time some times, it varies.

I'm on a belkin 54g router with adsl modem, and it seems to be alright so far. My mum has a had problems connecting to it - it constantly said "aquiring network address", and yet i'm on with no problems on my laptop. But this is a pretty small thing, that's solved by unplugging the power, and then plugging it back in again.
