Hi friends, i am james from singapore and i am pretty new to simulators. I just purchased a playseat evolution to set up a simulator for gran turismo. I will be buying a logitech g27 wheel and pedal set soon. I am giving myself till october to complete this project. (Working to save up for a good setup now). I need some advice on the ideal audio unit to go with it and a petty good setup as well. I saw a few websites where they use buttkicker to feel the vibes but at $2200 its way over budget. I would like to use a cheaper one such as a aura pro unit. I saw one where there were 2 aura pro bass shakers connected for left and right effect. What would i need to do that? Is it good enough to use just 1 piece and connect it to a woofer out put from my amp? Another thing are there any good full set speakers for the game. I know logitech makes some good units. Do you'll have any to recommend? Thank you all so much.

Are you planning to just play GT6 on this setup? Because then I would not spend too much money for Buttkickers or a sound system. Sound is still a mayor weak point of GT. Especially when it comes to low frequencies.

A Buttkicker system should be available much cheaper than $2200. A Buttkicker Gamer 2 costs about $150 according to their own website (http://www.thebuttkicker.com/gamer2). If you have seen a website where they use the SimVibe software to activate several Buttkickers then please be aware that this is only working on PC's and not on a console.

Hi tomcat66, thanks for your reply. That makes more sense now. Would you recommend any good and affordable sound system to go with the unit. I was thinking of logitech but not sure with which model. I did read up that you could use the optical output from the ps3 and connect it to a amplifier than setup a 5.1 setup with woofer and probably use a splitter to send one to a woofer and the other to a aura pro or buttkicker. What type of setup would you recommend? thanks alot!

What is your system now? Do you just connect your Playstation with your TV-set via HDMI cable? And what kind of monitor do you want to use in the future? TV or computer monitor (without speakers)?

I think the most common way to integrate a sound system is to use a regular multi channel amplifier (or receiver), like you would use them in a home cinema system. You can connect all speakers and the additional Buttkicker to this amplifier. The HDMI cable will go from your Playstation to the amplifier and the video signal via HDMI from the amplifier to the TV.

Or do you want to use a different configuration?

i am planning to use a samsung led or curve tv. probably have to go get a amplifier with hdmi ports for that setup. If i am getting the buttkicker, i understand it comes with its own amp, how do i hook that up to another amplifier? thanks!

Depending on the amp, significant lag is sometimes added even on the pass through setting. Hdmi direct to tv and optical to receiver might be the best option for @james jovian.

Yes the Buttkicker comes with his own amplifier. And also with a frequency crossover. So you can "feed" him any signal you like. For example you can use the "audio out" signal from your amplifier. Or the "audio out" of your TV (when your TV has something like that). Or maybe even the headphones signal from the amplifier or the TV (using some adaptors).

if you are getting a ps4 at some point then i would wait a bit to get the logitech g27. ps4 support still has not been announced and if its not compatable then you will be 1 of many irate g27 users.myself included, as for everything else, go for it, sounds like a good little project.post a pic when your done, i need some ideas for my man cave !
