Tricks and Tips for Newbies of GT3:

If you enter a race like Altezza where you all are the same cars, you should upgrade your car with the most worth it enhancements. These usually are the best ones:
1. Sports Brakes
2. NA Tune-Up Stage 2 or 3
3. Lightweight Stage 1 & 2
(if turbo's available)4. Turbo Upgrade 2,3 or even 4
5. Sports Tires (best buy for the price)
6. Flywheel Racing (gears change quicker)
7. Racing Chip
8. Clutch 3 plates

Now this is for Newbies only. All other guys now this already.
Tips Section 2
Just a warning
if you look on a site for GT3 about prize cars under beginner league, it says you win a Mazda Eunos Roadster in the Clubman Cup. You don't. You win a Mazda Miata MX-5. So watch that fake.

Tricks for GT3
Holding down R2 in automatic cars with acceleration makes the gear go up to it's max.

Hmm. Not sure I agree with the choices and ordering there. I would say that the first thing you should do is to put T2 Super Slick tyres on the car. These will enable you to do the entire race without pitting on most cars, certainly until you're deep into the Amateur league.

Also, lightweight reductions are a must, since these, like tyres, improve a car in every dimension, increasing cornering capability, shortening braking distances, and enhancing acceleration.

I would say that a Racing Gearbox is also extremely important, as this will enable you to match your car's engine to each individual track. I've lost count of the number of posts here where someone is surprised that their million-horsepower Skyline is running out of revs on the Super Speedway, simply because they are running a stock gearbox.

Then I would think about sports brakes and the brake balance controller. One of the AI's weaknesses is that it tends to brake too early, so if you can maximise that by braking later, it really helps, especially in the Pro leagues.

Don't just concentrate on the cheaper upgrades, because they often don't represent value for money - sports tyres being a case in point. Often it's worth saving and going for the higher priced component straight off - that way you don't waste money on buying an uprade, and then upgrading the upgrade.
 
Well, I'll second pretty much everything Giles has said. Lightweight 1&2 are a must on any modified car - they improve the performance of ALL the other systems, for one 'low low' price. And T2s will put the money where it's needed most - between the car and the road.

I'd also like to say that the Mazda Eunos Roadster and the MX-5 Miata are one and the same car. The Eunos is the European version; the Miata is the American name for it.

In Denmark is hasn't even got a name. It's just MX-5 :-)
