Hi, I'm kinda disappointed with BMW Vision GT Update. It's 900MB+ and only few things new. I struggle for 5 days waking up in the early morning to update and it was failed so many times. My internet kinda slow, it's about 60kbps.

So, I think next update like other Vision GT update, they should make it user to decide to "Download Vision GT Video", because I guess that Vision GT Video is not really important to me / other people with slow connection. It's like that Video's format was 4K BluRay TS with FLAC audio. It's impossible that a Car can have more than 100MB for a game. I'm a game developer too, so I think I know something like this. Very detailed car with 1M polys only took 20MB.

Please PD, make it lighter update, you know not everyone in this world has 1Gbps internet like you.

Thanks

@hall90 I already paid the more expensive internet. They said it's 7Mbps in advertisement for $10/month for 11GB quota. But in reality, it's only 100kbps (max). By the way, I'm not really rich people to pay $60/month for stable internet in my location.

I live in the poor country where internet is still a luxury thing..

What country are you talking about?

@AJHG1000 I was live in indonesia... Internet is expensive here
I hear you and I'm quite sure PD doesn't care anymore. Their reliance on the internet to add features and content has put me off planning any further purchases from them and anyone else that thinks it's quite alright to charge a premium price for an unfinished game.
Given everything I've seen from a brief foray into the COD series and GTA and GT, I think I'm done with consoles.

So as a game developer, what on earth makes you think it was ONLY the car? Seeing as the update which brought us the Mercedes VGT Racing Series and Corvette Gran Turismo Concept wasn't nearly this size, that alone should tell you there was more then just that car.

Regarding installation car sizes > standard cca.5 mb , premium cca.20 mb. You can check that through installation size (when installing fresh GT6) and every time you go into dealership , new car data will be installed. Of course , size of track might be a lot bigger than that :D

Hopefully , this 1.07 install wasn't just VGT (and movies:D ) ,but also some bugfixes (tires bug...) and maybe base for some future updates/bugfixes/features.

Still , I understand frustration if you are on limited/slow internet access, but that's just the way things work in "always connected" future.

You seem to think that a game being connected to the internet is limited to PD's games, and that's just not the case. Unfortunately, in a world that's connected by the internet, it's impossible for anyone to cater for the minority who aren't connected.

And here you go again not comprehending what was said. He clearly doesn't think its limited to just PD, .....did you not understand this part:
"and anyone else that thinks it's quite alright to charge a premium price for an unfinished game.

Its pretty clear that he doesn't think its limited to PD.

Yeah... Forza's car was only 700kb .3ds format with 4MB TGA texture. If BMW VGT includes 1,000 LODs, FLAC sound, and 64000x64000 textures, I believe it's 900MB more.

I checked the dealership, and there's no new car only BMW VGT. Unless they insert more than 10 cars in this mighty update.

You do know of the GT Academy cars being in the game now?

If, as suggested, this update contains the Senna content in a locked format, there is at a minimum:

Brands Hatch GP 80s
Brands Hatch Indy 80s
Autodromo Nazionale Monza 80s
#17 DAP Racing Kart 1978
Team Lotus Special Lotus 97T 1985

In addition to the BMW Vision GT (in two skins), the #35 Nissan GT Academy Team RJN Nismo GT3 GT-R (and voice files for the final round of GT Academy) and 2014 GT Academy Nissan R35 GT-R Black. I've also seen it posited that files for (but not the car for) the Mitsubishi Vision GT are included, some voice files for the Senna event, the 1981 RALT RT3 F3 car and mentions of three other Senna-era F1 cars (but no car data) are included.

And that makes your gigabyte.

2 Mbps download speed - took 80 minutes to download the 900+MB update. I'm not complaining but enjoying the cars! :p (can't wait for the future updates - added cars/tracks)

Oh so they also update GT Academy ?

Hmm... But they didn't tell me about that, they only tells me about endurance race and BMW VGT. So, if this update contains Senna content, do I have to update large file again on 27th May ?

yeah lucky you... I'm here only 60kbps and took me 5 days to complete...

I wont complain if my internet is 1Gbps without quota...

The content is in there, but it's all set to be unlocked on the release date. There'll probably be a further update, but hopefully nothing to the extent of this one.

If the content was included in v1.07, no - it'll simply be unlocked on May 27th (either by server time update or small download).

The next update ought to contain the Mitsubishi Vision GT and VW Vision GTI cars and, if the suggestions are correct, might contain the additional Senna content that is alleged to be available (Kartódromo Ayrton Senna track, Lotus 99T, McLaren MP4/6, Williams FW16). Though I wouldn't put any money on those.

i'm going to send a complain mail to my internet provider tho, I'm supposed to have 120 mbps download speed -_-'

OT:
It's hard to decide between rather having 1 large update file to have much pre-set at once or to have small ones every week (as example) to do 1 thing at the time

I hope VW VGT and Mitsubishi VGT wont be larger than 500MB. My internet quota is only 2GB left because download 1.07 failed at 90%. And I'm tired to get up in the early morning to get stable internet.

So, in 23 May update, there'll be VW VGT and Mitsubishi VGT ?

I'm sure about the VW, but the Mitsubishi i'm only 50% sure of. We'll see if PD decides to be all sneaky again like they were with the BMW one. #Surprise! <

And smaller files oughta be nice to have too, althought with PD you never know.

I get 1Mbps and it took 2.5 hours to download and 30 min to install. Internet here is expensive and also, more importantly, unstable
where in Indonesia are you?

Generally, cars aren't all that big. GT5's 2.10 update brought some bugfixes and the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, at 55Mb. Figure on a round 50Mb per car.

No idea. When we do know we'll stick it on the GTP blog, so keep your eye out for it.
