Hello.

Im having alitele delemma these day what i shuld upgrade next and what to go for.

I have a Obutto revolution rig.

Logitech g25

triple 27" 1440p monitors

good headsett.

Pc : i5 4590k. Gtx970.

Got a few questions.

I thinking of geting simvibe. But dont know if i can go with aura Shakers or if i have to go with buttkickers? Will start with 2 of em and run extensions mode. If that is any good? Or do you have do go chassi to Get something out of it?

And my other question :

is it bether to start upgrading my wheel or pedals to Get the best out of it? Was thinking of trustmaster tx or t300base with FXX wheel and maby the fanatic clubsport v3 pedals. Any other option ?

What do ppl think i shuld do? To Get the best out of it

Usaly play assetto corsa but i whant a rally game aswell soon.

Thank you for all the answers

best regards Stian

My order of what I think makes the biggest difference from most to lowest:

Pedals
3 screens vs 1
Wheel
Rig/mounting
Shifter
Seat
Displays

I don't know about simvibe so I can't comment.

But I always thought the G25 was a good wheel, it's light and responsive which I think in honesty made it better than the Fanatec porsche wheels or at least a side step.

What lets the G25 down is the pedals, get some V3's and you'll have a handy setup, then save up for either a CSW V2 base or direct drive wheel :)

The Aura shakers and any other transducer will work with Simvibe. Extension mode vs chassis mode comes down to how many transducers you can afford along with the room available to mount them, you dont want to buy 4 to only have room to install 2. You might want to nail down how you'll be mounting them on your rig and go from there.
Both of these modes will run the same profiles (the settings that control the transducers) and react the same, the only difference being where the vibrations will come from.

Oh and as for wanting a Rally game, definitely check out Dirt Rally (its a lot more "Sim" than the other Dirt titles) I'm really hooked on this game right now, and it works well with Simvibe (which there aren't tons of games working for)

As for upgrading your wheels and pedals I'm hesitant to say you should do it because its not my money, but I can say that having just gone from a G25 setup to a Fanatec setup it was a huge improvement, every moving part is metal and everything feels solid and pretty real. Fanatec is not cheap but at the same time I dont feel let down by anything.

Thank you for the answer :)

Going to order a handbrake atleast now for rally games.

But im still verry confuced if i shuld order pedals or some Shakers and simvibe :(

And if i do simvibe i dont know if the aura pro's have the push it takes on my rig.

Been reading up and down for days. He he

Oh i dident see youre replay grog. What Shakers do you run? And what rig? How do you feel they work ?

Was thinking of just order 2 aura's now and try them out. It isen alot of money since i have a NAD reciver i can run them on for now.

AS for the fanatic it seems realy Nice but expensive so in my head i whanted the pedals now or later on. Dont like the felling of those on the g25.

That saied i also have a racecar IRL so i could be Nice to have some feeling in the pedals.

How is the vibrating in the v3's BTW?

And for dirt rally. I just start downloading it

I'm using the buttkicker LFE mini mounted to an 80/20 frame. I've never used any other transducer so I cant really compare, but they seem to do a pretty good job.
I think the main difference you'll find between transducers is the frequency they respond to along with the power requirements.

Have a read through the Simvibe thread if you haven't already, theres some helpful stuff in there

Oh and the vibrating pedals are OK on the V3s but the throttle isn't supported on any games (so it seems) so only the brake works. You can set the percentage (of the overall travel) of where the rumble motor will kick in. It doesn't react to in game parameters it only reacts to the pedal travel.
The travel distance of the brake pedal is quite short compared to the logitech pedals and most others, it takes some getting used to. Anyway its a very nice pedal set.

I am not a big fan of all the butkicker and shaker things.
I have been impressed by some high end motion simulators but I can only think about using it for short fun sessions.

I know some think differently and enjoy very much these rigs. It is something personal.

Moving to high end pedals makes a lot of difference so it is definitely an upgrade I would recommend.
If you drift or play rally games, adding a handbrake is also a logical choice as the difference with pushing a button is, of course, significant.

Last comment regarding the display: 3x1440p seems ambitious with a single gtx 970...

That was what i was thinking aswell on the pedals and handbrake.

Yes it is. But it works. 60 fps in dirt rally with high settings and some on medium so it works. But i did have on Asus rog swift to begin with so it was natural to add 2 1440p more. And for later when i upgrade im not stuck with 1080p monitors :) Fps games im only doing on 1 screen any way so its not a problem. And if im alitel low its not a problem do down scall :)

Ppl are verry difference on the bass Shakers. Alot of ppl cant play with out it and some dont like it.

Havent tryed but it seems like fun. And if it give some more reaLety it seems worth it. But i have still a hard time making up my mind :P he he

You have a single buttkicker I assume? Which forces do you put through it?

I have 4 running in chassis mode and I typically run the standard profile which has all the effects turned on, with Dirt rally I've turned off impacts as it seems to activate for bumps and other stuff.

As soon as you experience racing in virtual reality, you'll appreciate that there is one aspect of sim-racing with the abilities to create the most immersion comes from your eyes (I.E.-Displays are the most important thing. -But not tripple screens which you are correct, don't add a huge amount of realism, rather HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAYS are what you should all be saving your money towards!

Then:
a strong forcefeedback wheel (preferably a servo wheel)
Pedals
Rig/Mounting (don't spend money on this, build your own)
Shifter being last of importance

I have a set of oculus rift dk1 tho. But i dont use then since i Get realy motion sick :(

I got a realy cheap Thrustmaster t500rs this weekend so i did buy that to try out.

Will see if the pedals work the way i like it if not i will change those later i think.

And i think i have made my choise to Get some of those sinustec Shakers and try those out.

Thank you for helping out :)

I tried simvibe a couple of days ago and I personally don't like it.

I would upgrade your G25 if you're not pleased with it anymore.

Very interesting. I believe you are the first person I have seen say that. Most don't like the price, but love the software. Care to share what you didn't like?

Of course.

I don't know if it was the software settings but the simvibe transducers are placed on a 80/20 aluminium frame and it felt like there was something wrong with his AccuForce. I asked him what the noise was because I heard more than I felt and he said that it was the Simvibe thing. What I heard and felt was annoying.

Maybe it's a personal thing, I don't know but I didn't like it.

I see. My guess is he may have had it turned up a bit higher than usual for "guest" use. I have been guilty of this. Turning up ffb and simvibe to impress friends then get in it myself and realize what a crappy feeling I gave them. Its easy to do when showing off your stuff. Maybe if you get another chance try turning volume on the amps down a bit.

I'll vouch for Buttkickers. They are a great addition to a sim rig. I only have one atm, but plan on purchasing at least a couple more if anyone ever gets them back in stock, and run them with Simvibe.

Well I can confirm that 80/20 frames dampen much of the vibration, this is one of 80/20s selling points on their website. But for those who make sim rigs and run simvibe we want to transmit the vibrations.
One thing you can do to improve this is to mount the transducers so they sort of hang on a 5"-6" piece of sheet metal which allows the transducer some more movement rather than just mounting directly to the frame.
Simvibe settings are also a huge factor.

980Ti SC on 1080 Triples is brought to its Knees on Ultra setting's, So 60fps High/med on 1440 triples is not likely to happen....sorry.

Ah yes The Gamer 2 method. VERY much works the ticket. Mini Lfe's SUCK in comparison to a Gamer 2 style frame. Tested back to back, and even with Less wattage at its use, the gamer 2 frame is something special.
