It's getting close even though none of you seem to care. But I watched the history of the games and NHL 2k8 seems like the winner for me. They've been getting better IGN Score on all their games.
 
depends, i got 2k7 for ps3 last year because there was no NHL07. I was surprised how good it was, it had some cool features and good graphics but i think im going to go back EA this year
 
Oh, it's gonna be on the PS3. How bout that... Anyway, if it's anything like the difference between 07 and 2k7 then I'll will be going 08 no contest.

With that said 07 was really ****ty, revamp or not EA has been making these sports games for how long now? Yeah... They better get it right this time. They better have left the joystick controls alone too. The 360 trailer was worthless too.
 
Looks like its EA ftw then? I would love a demo version of NHL 2k7 for PS3 just to test the 2k Sports engine. I actually dont have a clue what to buy, why cant it just be one NHL game? :sick:
 
So 2k8 copied EA's prostick?? Hmm... Maybe I'll change my mind then. Aww hell... who am I kidding, I'll probably end up getting both like last time. :grumpy:

I'm gonna order NHL 08, i have made up my mind! If that game stinks totally i'll get NHL 2K8 and sell my NHL 08. If NHL 08 is ok i won't buy any hockey game until 09.

edit: Its very obvious that they spy on each other when reading the Features. Both have the same things.
 
Well i see that EA has "borrowed" 2k7's goalie mode or "in the crease" as they call it in 2k7. Perhaps the two teams are working on it together like one big brainstorm? Anyways, whats the deal with those covers? In my opinion it should be either Crosby or Heatley with 08 and maybe Lecavalier on 2k8(Lecavalier has already done NHL06 i think).
 
Staal? He didn't even have a good 06/07 season. If I was Crosby I would be pretty POd, here he is NHL MVP of the 06/07 season, leading scorer, one of if not the best players in the NHL today and they put Eric Staal of all people on the cover.

Too bad, Crosby deserved it but it is just a cover. We'll see how good it is and if it is a bust then we can blame it on Staal.
 
I actually don't care who's on the cover, doesn't make any difference in the game anyway.
 
Even though it's on the 360 I tried the NHL08 demo... Looks like I'll be going with EA's crap once again. : sigh:

ive already ordered NHL 08 =) Maybe we will have a Demo out on PSN in a week or two.
 
If it's anything like the other demos... like DiRT I wouldn't hold my breath. :rolleyes: It's kinda lame how much a delay there is between the release of games that came out on the 360 and then the PS3.
 
What is the demo like, I still havent decided what to buy yet until I hear some reviews of the games after release. Last year I got 2k7 for PS3 and was not dissapointed but thought it could have been better, this year I am expecting alot from both games.

Every game will be a new experience with HD, even the PS2 games is a lot better with the faked HD. So NHL in HD with high camera will be awesome in any of the games 👍
 
I did some research on this game via IGN and it looks like it's going to be all EA crap. 2K8 doesn't have the same skill stick controls so it's less intuitive. I have a feeling it's going to be 360 only also, probably just because of the 360 controller.

NHL 2k8 is out for order now in my favourite webshop in Sweden.

So they didn't even put the Skill Stick in the PS3 version this year?? What is going on?
 
They have the same control as NHL 07 with some added features. 2K8 however has part of the skill stick but you have to press a button to shoot I believe.
