Night races?

Anyone else looking forward to night races find them rather bland?

I have done quite a few now and watching the preview videos vs. actually playing the night races is well.....underwhelming.

Seems they just turned the colors down to gray, but you can still see everything. Your not really relying on your headlamps at all. I know I should stop comparing the game to Shift2 but it was the latest game I was playing before D3, and the night races are epic in that game. I was hoping the same feeling with light reflections etc.

And I know...my TV is set correct. I even messed with it on the first night race I came across.

Maybe it looks better on the PC but on PS3 I am unhappy.
 
I have a PS3 with Dirt 3- using a 52" Sharp Aquos LCD. I could adjust the brightness down and the contrast up so that seeing outside the headlight beams is a lot more difficult, but I just leave it.

Interesting note, I traded in Shift 2 for some $$ to go towards Dirt 3 purchase and I'm glad I did.

Shift2 is my favorite game in a long time. I am actually thinking I might trade D3 back for something else if the rallies dont get longer than a minute or 2 :)

Better trade in then. I read the game engine can't handle long stages.

Really? I am almost done with Season 3 and was hoping for some real rally coming up. What happened to the "more rally" part of the promo of Dirt3?

Such a bummer. But I hear you can get more since th PSN is down and you cant enter the online code.

Yeah the short stages are the biggest let-down for me but I can get my G25 working well with D3 and I just couldn't with S2. Hopefully they get a little longer, I heard they do, or maybe DLC to the rescue?
 
DLC should enhance the core game. Its sad that they would HAVE to make a DLC for it to actually make it more than 50sec - 2mins of rally.

DLC shouldnt be a reason to buy a game that was hyped over and over about "Back to Rally" then find out rallies are few and far between "Gymkhana, Amigo, Dude, Bro, Yuuutube it!!!!!1111!", and a sad attempt at tarmac racing.

I am still amazed at how many people are so happy with this game.

No idea. Waiting for the PSN store to get dlc for shift2 and never played Infamous, so hopefully soon Ill plenty of games. Maybe LA Noire...not sure what else is out there.
