ESFLOW

As for just what the Esflow is capable of, Nissan reports that the lithium-ion batteries powering twin rear motors combine for a zero to 60 mph time somewhere around 4 seconds. Not bad for a electric car!

The site I write for was the first to get images of the actual car :)

Stunning bit of design IMO, best thing to come out of Nissan in a very long time. It's like a 370Z+, hints of that design pumped up in all the right places.

It's apparently a fully working prototype too using LEAF running gear, but because it's much lighter range is around 150 miles.

Can't wait to snap some more pics of it at Geneva in just over a week's time :D

Thanks for more pics and info. I am absolutely in love with car already, and really hope that it goes into production!

I don't think it's confirmed for production yet, if it does though it would apparently retail for about $35-40k before tax incentives and the like.

Due to near instantaneous torque from pretty much 0 RPM of electric motors 0-60mph is their strong suit, so 4 seconds is not suprising (to me atleast). Nice to see the radical looking concepts living on.

Personally I'd prefer it if they revived the Silvia. This car looks like a 370Z made a baby with "iRobot".

To be honest it kind of reminds me of the classic Z cars, with the long front and the short end.

It's a very traditional sports car shape, really. As you said, a long front and cut-off rear, narrow cabin and blistered arches, but with a lot of new stuff in there too.

It's definitely got a modern Z-car influence, but IMO it looks better than either the 350 or 370. More compact, more toned. Looks lower too, which is great because it'd always been assumed that pedestrian crash protection regs would see the end of low cars.

I like the interior too. With the two raised sections of the dash there's a hint of old Corvette about it.

I don't like it, it's ugly. Congrats on making what would be a great electric car, however, it's an electric car. Don't care how fast it is it will make an unpleasant noise if any at all. I'll take combustion of some kind.

Seems pretty polarising then. I'd be interested to hear whether it's just aspects of the design people don't like, or the whole thing. Or whether people are just seeing the word "electric" and then deciding it's rubbish.

Nice! Pretty cool. Kind of like a futuristic 240Z. Great looking fastback Nissan.

I don't see how that resembles a 240Z, even remotely.

Though I must say I kind of miss the 240SX. Flipups and all.

That's one ugly face.

Looks like a Mazda design from the front, really. Strong Z influence on the profile. and somewhat on the rear.

I think it's cues, particularly the lights, are way, way, WAY overdone. It's a case where KISS might have helped some. The bonnet, in particular, seems to cave in where it shouldn't, and, as said earlier, it has a LOT of poorly-executed Mazda influence in the front - very swoopy.

I think the Electric aspect is appealing, even though I don't like battery cars in principle.
At least it's showing something new.
