The 2023- Frontier really is exactly that. I'll give Nissan credit where it is due. It's a massive improvement from the previous gen and actually on par with a Tacoma, but less money in many trims.

That's good. It's the Navara over here. Wasn't sure if Nissan still had a small truck. I remember the Titan(Edit: I seriously did not mean to do that :dunce:), but didn't know where Nissan trucks were with their line up.

Strange when the new Hilux debuted in Thailand a week ago. Instead, the upcoming Thai Motor Expo on the 29th, the current generation X-Trail (That's five years old at this point) will be making it's launch in the country. Right after Indonesia back in July. Moreover, the current generation Navara will see a new entry-level variant in the upcoming expo.

And considering the next-gen Navara will be based and built in the same factory as the Triton, how long until Nissan's factory in Thailand would shutdown?
 
The weirdest thing about modern Nissan to me is that I drive them all the time as rental cars. Sentra, Altimas, Rogues especially. They're totally fine. Arguably good, and they get great fuel mileage. And there are a ton of them, their fleet sales were gigantic in previous years although they've evened out a bit as other companies like Mazda have finally realized how valuable the rental car advertisement is. A Nissan Altima is basically the best highway cruising car on the market.

Sentra is a good car and was IMO the best looking car in it's class until the new one came out. Not a fan of the new design. It desperately needs a shot of fun, bring back the SE-R or something.

Altima is a great road trip car that gets 40+ mpg but unfortunately it's one step away from death.

Most of Nissan's cars are fine enough now, I think it's just that Toyota has so wholly consumed the consumer passenger car market in North America now that nobody can really get that much traction anymore, aside from the enclaves in areas around their manufacturing plants.
 
Tokyo Auto Salon coming right up this weekend. Big reveal from Nissan/Nismo. Since it seems to be based on a car that is normally a hybrid, will be interesting to see if this is just a body kit and stickers or if they truly went all out.

Nissan Z (RZ34 generation) is getting a facelift for the 2027 model year. New interior and exterior color too it seems. The front Nissan badge is replaced by the Z badge as well.

I quite like the minimalist interior, it doesn't feel over-engineered like a lot of sports cars do (would rather have mechanical gauges behind the steering wheel, but I guess nobody really does that much anymore). Just a shame that they're asking BMW money for it.
 
I’m digging the fabric. Of course it’s green. Give me a black or dark grey two-tone seats, grey trim. Fit some brakes that’ll accommodate 17” wheels. Add thicker tyre sidewall and I’d have it.

Add the duck tail too.

The 2028 Xterra & Pathfinder will be body on frame 4x4s. This is a huge win for Nissan, I hope it works out. Turning the Pathfinder nameplate into a crossover was just sad.

That shoulder line is so classic. This thing could be rad, I'm pretty excited for it and I really hope they bring to to the US given our lack of sedans.

As for that Xterra...wow, that thing is way more aggressive than expected. Also looks rad. I really hope it's a good package although it will probably be too short to sleep comfortably inside which is a bummer. Within the next 5-10 years I'll probably be looking to replace my Sequoia although it's got a unique blend of characteristics that make it a pretty close to perfect camping and off-road vehicle.

In other news, this just popped up:



Yowza. I respect that they're going wild with design but I gotta admit this feels like a miss to me. As far as I know, they've fully replaced the Juke with the Kicks in North America, and I do like the design of our current Kicks. It's much more plain than this but still interesting and cute enough to sell as a small car.

I drove a kicks a few years ago while my Versa Note was getting work done. Fine, if you don't have back seat passengers with legs. I'm over 6ft tall and fit in the back seat of my car with room to spare. Couldn't get in the kicks.
 
I like that side view pic. Taking cues from all the saloon models. Dont know why they have to go with the Tesla-Prelude-Purosangue-and everything else fascia, but the signature rear is awesome.

I think the front is more pronounced, it's not just a basic light strip.
