maybe it is just me however I don't think this will work for you guys.

I'm not sure you can share the Academy Cars. I put my Leaf on share and tried to borrow from an alternate active GT account. It went through all the motions but when I attempted to use it on the borrow account the car wasn't there.

Next I tried to borrow the car on an alternate Gt account that has been active only a couple of times in the past 3 months with the same result. When I return to the GTLIFE section the Leaf is not there for use.

Your idea to borrow Academy Cars may be nice but I don't think it is going to work.

It's work ... I already did it mate, between accounts on mine PS3 and other friends too ... yes, it works ... 100% sure.
The only thing you can't do, is buy the weight reduction upgrade ... but you can buy the full adjustable suspension and tyres.
But you don't need to buy anything, with a stock car I can win the ticket 0 too .... have the ticket on my ALT accounts too.
