Nissan R390

I heard that Nissan only made 15 R390s and each one of them were sold for $1,000,000. Is this true?

im not exactly sure but that seems about right (road versions)

Oh yeah, I also heard that they were completely hand made and most of the car was made of carbonfiber.

they are a race car that had to be modified for road inorder for them to be allowed to race

They never made 15 of them. FIA regulations specified at least, if my memory serves me correctly, one road going examples for the car to be illegible for Le Mans. Hence why there's also a road going TS020 GT-One/CLK-GTR/Porsche 911 GT1/McLaren F1.

The cars weren't always sold to the general public. The sole road going GT-One is in Toyota's Motorsports museum, either in Germany at TTE's headquarters, or in Japan. It was sold to one of the execs of the company, or something like that.

Thanks for the information, but they had to of made more than one unless they painted the same car over and over. If you look at this website that I just found,you will see about three different colored ones, so there must be more than one.: Go here

They made a short tail version in 1997, and moved to a long tail version in 1998. So there are 2 of them, i guess.

from the looks of it, they made one short tailed version and two long tail ones.

I remeber that a company about an hour away form me (I forgot the company's name- was gonna go there for work experiance) made the R391. I'm not quite sure if they designed it but they developed it and race prepared it for Le Mans. Anyway my dad (he's a photographer) was asked to do a bit of wrok for the company. It turned out that he and his buisiness partner were asked to take the final pictures of the R391 squad, just before they headed off to Le Mans. Though my dad didn't tell me this on the way, there he just left it as a surprise (this was in 1998 I think). So we turned up to see the cars being wheeled out of this wrok shop and they set up the whole of the mechanics and drivers of the two cars and took several group pictures. I think they still might have some of the pictures lying around, I'll try and find them. Also the boss of NISMO was there and he had just bought some amasing new digi camera.. He was trying it out on everything. At first I didn't realise he was the head of NISMO, and he came up to me and my mate and asked if he could take a picture of us (which we thought it was a bit strange) and he did. It came out as a polaroid, and he gave it to us. Afterwards one of the mechanics of the car came up and told us it was teh head honcho of NSIMO . I'll try and find all the pics. Though it was soo long ago, and my dads buisiness has moved premisis and a lot of stuff was lost. Anyway true story.
Also that company that worked on teh R391 before it went off to Le Mans also made Thrust SSC .

that car looks mighty ugly...sorry to say. the short tailed version looks ok but the long version reminds me all too much of the batmobile. Maybe thats where one of the 15 went
