Nitro is back in GT6

For me, there's more pro's than con's about nitrous being back in. Surely there'll be the occational person that just wants it cranked on every car so he won't be last, but on the other hand, think of the opportunities it creates for organised racing series. For an example if you could apply it to the Formula Gran Turismo or a Le Mans prototype. There's a KERS equivalent right there. So yes, if it can be controlled for use in online races (which I believe it will, seeing as they already have similar fancy options for driver AIDs), I'm all for it 👍
Don't misuse the word "equivalent", please.

For the sake of clarification, I know KERS uses kinetic energy to restore power while nitrous is just compressed air, but nevertheless they're both additional power at the driver's disposal for x number of seconds, hence why I compared it to KERS.

You're missing my point here, it's more about the R - Recovery part.

The word "equivalent" doesn't work in this context.

And you're missing my point it seems. KERS stores power which you can use "at the push of a button" so to say. In that context, it's the same basic principle as nitrous. The main difference is, KERS power is made from the heat produced by the brakes and thus is "reset" every lap, whereas nitrous normally isn't.

Once you've used all nitrous, you're done with it. KERS does recover, in other words recharges over time.

You either don't know what equivalent means or you're being ignorant now.

Nevertheless, nitrous and KERS do share certain similarities and are largely similar except for the fact that KERS recovers.

GT is advertised as being a sim so nitrous should not be included. Next they will give us EMP!!.

Seeing the poll, i'm amazed that the majority want GT to be Arcade, but to be fair it's still more Arcade than Sim even now.

Now that's just stupid. Nitrous is a real thing that exists, and because it is a real thing why can't it be simulated?

I don't/can't disagree with the sharing (certain) similarities part.

I'm sorry, are you under the impression that nitrous is a fictional modification?

Go back to the dead forza forums, troll.

Yes nitrous is real..i know that, but it still has no place in any racing game other than arcade?street racing.

👎 Are you being serious? As others have mentioned, nitrous can be used in real life races. It's not going to be implemented like in NFS games with a wooshing sound, huge surge of power and blue flames coming out of the exhaust.

can only really see it being useful for drag or maybe a last push towards the finish line if you're neck and neck with someone.

Lol, yes the forza forum is quite dead at the moment...Not a troll though..i bought PS1 for GT, PS2 for GT and Ps3 for GT. I have purchased all versions of GT and am certainly no Forza Fanboy, but there does seem a bit of a feeling here that one must toe the line with other peoples views on here, or you will be cut down! I still have a right to my own opinions as does everyone else on here, and whether you agree or not does not give you or anyone else the right to start name calling.

I'm obviously not well informed of racing series around the world, so what Racing Series do actually use Nitrous?

This is an honest question :)

I don't think it will have such a bad effect, damage is permanent so inconsiderate idiots will think twice before slamming the turbo on that turn to knock others out of the way offline or online..

Sorry for calling you a troll, but pro drag racing is an obvious one. As far as other racing series I'm really not sure, but maybe FastTech knows...
