Nitrous not working for me

I've tried nitrous on 4 or 5 different cars and it seems to have absolutely no effect for me. Top speed achieved at the end of the long straight in the Nordschleife is exactly the same whether I don't use nitrous or use it at max power. I haven't seen any threads about this but I can't believe this is something that only happens to me :( anyone else having the same problem?

Nitrous is more useful when accelerating in lower gears. You going to see little or no benefit when you are approaching top speed.

Nitrous doesn't affect top speed.
Extra power doesn't allow you to reach higher speeds?
I was only able to reach 339mph with the veyron. Gave it a shot of naws and hit 350. When I let off, it started falling back down to 339.

Disagreed.

You weren't hitting the limiter at 339, thus using nos simply gives you more power to get closer to your limiter. If your bouncing off your limiter no amount of nos will get you a higher top speed.

I was not hitting the limiter @350mph.

If the power-band drops off in the last 500-1,000 rpm (like most cars), using nitrous can be very helpful. It can also be useful anytime you're not at peak power, or if you need the extra boost when passing.

I opened the exact same thread today. This only happens to me if the overall power limiter is anything less than 100% (when trying to adjust the car to the PP required).
Change the Nitro boost to the highest to notice it better, but it will empty faster as well.

Also if you are trying to lower the PP, remove parts instead of using the power limiter.

Buy a slow car and see how good it is in the higher gears when your acceleration is slow.

Nitrous Oxide is used to increase the rate of acceleration not the vmax speed. Maybe you've played too much NFS.

Umm, Nitrous Oxide is used to increase power, so yes it increases the rate of acceleration but more power also increases top speed (with suitable gearing etc).

Funny how that stuff works when you have to try and find the right tuning balance. It's not quite like in the movies is it? That's part of the joy of learning the delicate dance of each car at its limit. Once you get a tune down to perfection it's like a perfect instrument that is nearly impossible to beat in the right hands.

Happy Tuning!! Don't get to frustrated:banghead:

This is it. Just tested it and with no power limiter the nitrous works as it should, but if you use the power limiter (like I do in all of my tunes) the nitrous doesn't make a difference. Nice work PD :)

Hmm, I played around with the power limiter a bit and I am hoping that PD gives us an option to not allow the use of this in online lobbies as it makes the cars power curve unrealistic and gives those cars using it an advantage over those that do not.

I would think the Nitrous would still make a difference in this case but only when you use it at lower rpms.
