I've searched all over for a definitive answer but have come up with nothing, so hoping you guys can help.

I have a G920 which means I have the incredibly stiff brake pedal that many of you will have heard about. To overcome this I have been using my G920 wheel with an old G27 pedal set that I borrowed from someone else. This has the Nixim brake mod installed.

As I now have to return those pedals to their original owner, I am looking to effectively "downgrade" my G920 pedals and install a Nixim spring to replicate the old G27 feel.

Has anyone done this? Are the spring dimensions the same? Looking for confirmation before I pop the case open and void the warranty in the process.

Others who sell mods for the G27 pedals claim they also work with the G29 pedals so I don't see why this one wouldn't. That's not a confirmation, but more a educated assumption I guess. :gtpflag:

Hi
We have been testing for the last few months so could not say too much.
Yes the NIXIM pedal mod will fit the G29 and G920 pedal sets but you will need to remove the two white plastic
caps that Logitech fitted with their rubber buffer update.

We have also tweeked the clutch spring to give a better bite point as you release the pedal.

Check it out at our updated page at www.nixim.com

Sorry for the wait in releasing this mod - but it is worth the wait. We took the chance to see if anything could be improved and we found that only our clutch spring could be slightly modified for better effect.

thanks for your question.

Dave

Brilliant! Thanks Dave, straight from the horses mouth. Much appreciated!

That's good news for new customers, because when I bought mine a few years ago the spring was so long that once it was fitted there was no dual stage feeling as the first stage was already compressed. I don't mind too much as it's really stiff & a lot better than the stock clutch.

Hi
Actually we have "tweeked" the Clutch spring twice now, - the first time was soon after the first reviews which to be honest were not fantastic in terms of the Clutch. And recently with the new wheel and pedals with the G29. We knew we would never make an exact copy of the clutch as we have with the brake but we knew if we could introduce a bite point this would be good enough to give the feel of a racing clutch. Though in racing I personally only use the clutch for race starts and pulling out of the pit box.
We had the brake spring correct on release and have never had a bad comment or recommendation to do anything with it, So much so that even Logitech has copied the idea (amongst others) :)
