Maybe I'm missing something, b/c I'm surprised I couldn't find any threads about this...

But is there really no brake modification allowed in this game? I hadn't really spent a lot of time in the tuning shop and have been mostly racing stock cars. But then I noticed that there is no brake section in the tuning shop.

What in the world?:yuck: How can you have a realistic driving/racing simulator and not having the ability to upgrade your pads or rotors? Given that almost all cars with a stock brake set up will experience brake fade on a track after 2-3 hard laps I'm quite disappointed in this. Not to mention I love a lot of the older cars and their biggest flaw are their brakes. I figured that would be a quick fix...

:grumpy:

GT5 does not model brake fade, therefore upgraded pads and discs are not required.

^^thanks, though I was aware of that.

^It's unfortunate they don't but that is understandable given the dynamics of that. However offering a brake upgrade (like they had in GT4) would be expected. I think it's a glaring omission.

Yeah, I miss this upgrade from earlier GT games too. Was almost always the first thing I add to a car, then adjust the balance to a little more rear basis to get the back end to slide in tight turns.

To be honest guys, the default brakes settings feels like stock in GT4, if you tune the settings in the brake balance, out of nowhere magically it feels like sports peformance brakes like in GT4 :dunce:

I usually use 9 front 3 rear and this setting works really well on my cars :D

There is very little need to upgrade brakes if you don't have brake fade modeled. It would just add extra weight. You can fiddle with the brake controller to set up your brakes. That would have been the only upgrade worth having, but it comes stock.
