No car sound when starting race - Game Bug

I searched for it but didn't find this.

When starting a race in Career Mode, I sometimes do not have my car's sounds. I hear the other cars and all my controls work fine, but none of my car sounds (engine, tires, etc.) The wind noise does seem to be there...

My rig:
T500RS with G27 pedals (no H-pattern)
PS3 Slim 320G, HDMI out to TV
Sound through PS3 wireless headphones (the first big square ones).

I restart the race, sometimes takes a couple of tries, and the sound is there and stays the whole race.

Is this common? Please delete the thread if this is an old issue, but please point me to the master thread.
 
Yes, this is annoying. I've found that after a couple stabs at the brakes, the glorious GT engine sound returns.

Iv experienced this several times too. I noticed that once u get the rpms pretty low it usually comes back. Aside from the fact that I can't hear the engine to know when to shift I'd almost rather have no engine sound cuz they are just so incredibly horrible. How hard can it be to create realistic engine sound, even EA can get it right....
 
I've had this on numerous occasions. At first I thought it was a bug with the RB Jr, as that was the only car I ever seemed to have the problem with. A restart or two and I'd have my engine sound back. I pushed on once to see if it'd sort itself out, but a couple of laps in I still didn't have any engine noise.

But then I started having the same problem with some other cars too. Haven't had it yet in a series race where I wouldn't have the option of just restarting that race, but I'll be rather annoyed if/when it does happen.
 
Yep, this happens to me regularly and it's enormously stupid! After a while, my engine's sound appears, but anyway when other is nearby or my tyres squeal, I can't hear my own engine. How can I not hear a 7 liter V8 in a Cobra?!
 
I've just experienced this last night as well. I did not have the patience to wait for the sound to come back (I change gear by relying on the engine sound). I just quit the race and get back to it.

Is it me or GT6 is more buggy than GT5 - a game that was supposedly way less "finished" when it was launched? Or are the bugs simply more annoying?
 
Yeah that happens occasionally. Try ramming into an AI car good and hard, for some reason that sometimes makes my engine sound re-appear lol. Other times it just comes back on its own for no apparent reason.

I was having this a lot & I started to wait a bit more before initiating the start. The frequency of this issue seems to have dissipated now that I wait a bit more. I suspect the game leaves off the sound file if it gets pushed to start a race.

This. I had the issue of non-sound (actually only missing the engine sound. I can hear the gearbox and tires. In cars with forced induction, i can hear those systems too.) aswell, but after waiting a few more seconds before starting the race, it has turned into a non-issue.
 
I just shift up a couple of time and its fine after that. The sound comes back in the lower revs
 
I hope they will fix that in some near future. It's not game breaking bug but still pretty annoying when race is 5 laps and 2 of them you hear nothing just some random noises that reminds me of electric cars :D Well it depends on what car I am using because some of them get sound back in couple of shifts.
