No GT5 Collectors Edition for Canada?

Despite pre-ordering over a month ago; I was told today by Play N Trade staff that my CE has not arrived and they were told they would not be receiving any. :banghead:

Has anyone else discovered that Sony Entertainment is screwing with Canadian Grand Turismo Collectors Edition enthusiasts?

yeah thats true...i pre-ordered CE and then i got a call today saying i will have to wait another week for it coz there werent enough copies....but surprisingly again they called and said someone dropped their preorder and i was put on the list XD :sly:
 
Collector Edition or the super expensive Signature Edition? (which I think only went to Europe)

I spoke with EB Games in Halifax and they said they're good to go for CE editions tomorrow.
 
There are CE copies available, maybe just not enough for every single person that pre-ordered. A friend of mine got his pickup confirmation (but he pre-ordered 1.5 years ago).

I pre-ordered the CE; not the Signature Edition (Europe).

I am pissed that Play N Trade lied to me today (No Canadian stores receiving CE)as EB Games in Nanaimo has CE's 🤬

Back on topic, EBGames called earlier and they said my Collector's Edition will be ready to pickup on the 24th.
 
I called them in regards to CE and they said they should be receiving the shipment soon of CE's tonight. That's pretty decent considering my city was the 2nd coldest spot on Earth today, no lie.
 
There's not enough supply. According to the GS employee I talked to, he said EB Canada only got 5,000 copies of CE out of the EB allotted amount. Obviously take it with a grain of salt. But my EB only received 20 copies for CE, and there were 27 people who pre-ordered. Those guys are either going to get one on a later shipment, or they might not get it at all, depending on supply.
 
I preordered the CE version last September so they better have a copy for me.. I'm going to call them tomorrow to make sure. I've even made the full payment.

Only problem is I can't actually go and pick it up until friday since I'm out of town :K
 
Yes, my EB games will have Collector's Edition as well, but they don't even have enough to satisfy everybody on the preorder list. I will have to go during noon to secure my copy before it gets sold out since I have something important to do during the morning.

Just to make sure I get one tomorrow, I will only say that my store is in Markham, ON.
 
Hmm this is troubling.. I know my EB Games has had them since Friday, but I dunno how many.. Guess I'll be there at 9 on the dot to be safe.
 
Yes I'll buy the regular version tomorrow at Walmart and then see if Play N Trade get any CE's at all; if not they can refund my money for the pre-order that I completely paid the balance!

Just to let you know. Whether you get your CE depends on how far up you are on the pre-order list. This way, the people who pre-ordered first will be guaranteed the product. So if you were like the 21st person to pre-order and they only had 20 copies, you still won't be able to get a copy even if you were the 1st guy in line at 10am. Oh, and I'm awfully close to Markham, but the EB I pre-ordered at isn't at Hwy. 7 & Woodbine.

AFAIK they still don't have enough collector's edition to meet the number of people that preordered.

My store didn't have the preorder exclusive DLC cars yet though. If you guys ordered at EB games or Gamestop, did you guys get them?

Nope my store hasn't gotten them yet, I called them up when I got home and they said they'll call me when they come in.

Yeah I can confirm they don't have enough right now, it seemed to me like they were handing them out on a first come first serve basis though.
 
I got mine at EB Games, however it doesn't seem to have the codes for the 5 DLC cars or the PSN theme :/

EDIT: Never mind, I found the chrome car voucher in the game case itself alongside the game manual rather than in the big CE box.

It seems like news on the CE in Canada varies from region to region. I have made several phone calls, and gone into the stores. From all the information I have gathered so far here in SK, it seems like EB Games (Gamestop) is the only 'mainstream' store to get the CEs in Canada. SOME independent stores might have them too (I remember reading somewhere on here that Game-arama in Toronto had them...I think it was in the midnight launch thread).

My local Bestbuy, Walmart and Futureshop didn't receive any CEs. I was planning on getting my friend in the states to buy the CE and ship it to me, but I am now strongly considering just getting the SE here. Not sure if the CE is worth $100 + courier charges from the US for me. (~ $130) After all that, I would still get it 5 business days from now.

I think I have just convinced myself to get the SE while writing this post. My CE aspirations will have to wait until GT6!! :)

The EB guy I talked to today mentioned that the Gamestop DLC cars aren't in until later. Then he just gave me a call regarding them being in. The problem is that I've been hearing alot of horror stories of how some of the codes only give out the Nascar and not the McLaren, so I'm not too sure if I should pick mine up and try my luck or wait until someone comes up with a solution.
