I'm 62 years old and a noob to GT5. I have nanaged to get to level 24 and only have one race to get done in the expert level. I would like to race online but don't want to get in the way. Is there a section for new drivers so we are all kind of equal? Thanks for the help.... Butch

Not really, just look for a room title that seems newbie friendly and has no restrictions. Or you can make your own room and set it up how you want. I suggest running boost on so everyone will be closer together. Races where 1 guy is 30 seconds ahead and another guy is 2 minutes behind aren't very fun IMO.

Some rooms are titled "all welcome" or something. Just pick a room like that and start racing with any car that meets the criteria. If you don't have a car in your garage that works, just use the reccomended lot. After a while you should get the hang of it pretty quickly.

For general a "race" just join random rooms from the ingame list! You will soon get fed up with the quailty of other peoples driving - I do not mean speed I mean ramming and corner cutting etc at this point it is important to not forgot this website.

Alot of good events and races are organized right here. Just find a couple that fit your free time slots and interests and take part :)

Hey, Butch. You sound a lot like me. I'm 56 years old and I'm currently level 28. The aspec part of this game only lasts so long, so I feel that for the game to have longevity, online is a must. So far my online experience has been a real mixed bag. A couple of thrilling races followed by a lot of wasted time. It can be an intimidating, confusing, mess, at least for me. I think djchon661 might have a great league and I want to give it a shot. I hope you do the same! Then, maybe I won't finish last EVERY race. lol. I will send you a friend request and maybe we could do some ultra casual racing in our respective lounges. .....Tom PSN thlogan

Hey Butch and thlogan...please add me as I am still very much at the beginning of my 'GT 'career..yes mods = more BHP = more power but tuning WTF...negative camber...???

Please add me (a relative youngster at 42 years old..on the outside at least) PSN: DJAbacus...I live across the pond so it won't always be easy to meet up but please add me anyway....look forward to racing with you...:)

Don't forget to make a bunch of cars your favorites. Then you can use cars you are used to.

I have found it hard to find good racing online. But when you do you will love it. I was racing 'Harry_bob' last night. We were similar strengths and weaknesses. A good room host will keep things interesting. If someone is tooling around, change rooms.

Are you free on Monday nights? Come race with us in a casual weekly race I hold called Monday Night Endurances. The last 2 weeks we had between 12-14 people start the race, so there's plenty of room.

To be honest, I created this event because I can only race 1 day per week and got tired of wasting hours looking for a decent room. It's fun, clean racing with a variety of skill levels. Check it out.

Ive got you signed up for the sunday league already and that should be starting either this sunday or next :) just looking for a few more racers 👍

Thanks all you guys.. I have signed up for some races on Sunday and hope to have a great time.. I went online lastnight but was dissapppointed with all the bad language and rough driving.. I know that that is just a bunch of kids so that is why I'm just looking for some good racing with good people and I hope I have found some for sunday and more in the future.. I will add all you guys today

Thanks

Hey Butch. Im glad you found some races to join in. Please feel free to add me to your friends list. We are currently holding a Wed night and a sat night race 8pm EST. Right now we are racing Lancers and Imprezas to get started. We are mostly an older crowd looking for good clean racing. I cant promise there will be no swearing but we are respectfull. You can also catch up with us for practice sessions. Its all in fun and skill levels varies across the board so theres no need to worry about that. We like to help each other get better. Look forward to racing with ya sometime!

I'm also now looking to get into online races. Usually keep the driving line on but tinker with the aids to make it more fun. Looking for fair racers in which I can join in their lounge/lobby. Live in England & on most nights from 7pm-ish

Butch, sorry you weren't with us tonight in the supertunercar race. One guy was scary fast, but overall it was still very fun. djchon661 seems like a good guy and I think he'll do a good job. Hope to see you next Thursday........Tom

Thlogan and djchon661 seem like really good guys to help get into the online experience. It can be intimidating to jump into the shark infested waters lol. If you are looking for another person that is noobish...please feel free to send a request to psn Idontknoworcare7
