the 380 isn't in GT4, I don't know about the fairlady, but the damn 2000GT was way overpriced. the 69 vette i tested it against cost less than half, and went alot faster.

I've done Car vs Car tests before, and I do em on N1 tires, no driving aids, 2 laps on laguna (outlap, timed lap) and 1 lap of the Ring.

Laguna:
2000GT- 2:03.250
Vette- 1:53.795

Ring:
2000GT- 9:43.706
Vette- 8:58.288

The GT, although more stable on N1's, was just as hard to handle. It's only real advantage was braking, and that was mainly due to the fact that it just didn't hit the speeds of the vette. with only 150 hp, but weighing almost 2400 pounds, it was just outdone by the vette, with 350 hp, but weighing around 3300 pounds, iirc. this gave the Vette a much better P:W. In fact, the vette's biggest detraction was it's gear limitation. Limited to around 120 mph, it bounced off the redline at least half a dozen times along dottinger, whilst the 2000GT was struggling to hit the Vette's redline top speed at all.

I've driven a fully modded Charger, with R3 tires in GT4. it handled great, to be honest.

The toyota 2000GT is very expensive, i real live they go for about $250000 and the KPGC10, $100000/150000. And for the KPGC110 you should be happy if you could even vind one. There is one on sall but they didn't wan't to name the price. There were only 197 made, nissan used the remaining S20 engine's that they had left over when the production of the KPGC10 ended .

Ok, so I did a little comparison on the cars that I can buy...Sorry, no KPGC10 since I sold all of the old Skylines a long time ago (didn't like the way they looked) and they're not avail. for purchase.

The cars were bought today and were left stock. 3 laps each.

Anyway, here's some times that I got:

Tsukuba

1. Chevrolet Corvette Stingray L46 350 '69 - 1:04:687
2. Chevy Chevelle SS 454 '70 - 1:04:989
3. Chevy Camaro SS '69 - 1:05:736
4. Dodge Charger 440 R/T '70 - 1:06:632
5. Nissan 240ZG '71 - 1:10:409
6. Toyota 2000GT '67 - 1:12:493

Infineon Sports Car Course

1. Chevy Corvette Stingray L46 350 '69 - 1:49:088
2. Chevy Camaro SS '69 - 1:52:618
3. Dodge Charger 440 R/T '70 - 1:52:805
4. Chevy Chevelle SS 454 '70 - 1:52:928
5. Nissan 240ZG '71 - 1:58:181
6. Toyota 2000GT '67 - 2:01:236

I have personally tested approx 350 cars on Nurburgring (and other tracks) in GT4 over the years so far, and here is some results (all cars have standard S2's with no assists)

1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray L46 350 = 7'55.819
1971 Dodge Charger Superbee 426 Hemi = 8'05.413
1965 Shelby Mustang GT 350R = 8'06.482
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 = 8'08.853
1970 Dodge Charger 440 R/T = 8'10.808
1970 Plymouth SuperBird = 8'14.706
1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 = 8'20.957
1971 Plymouth Barracuda 440 Six Pack = 8'21.408
1964 Pontiac GTO = 8'21.459
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350 = 8'23.303

1971 Nissan 240ZG = 8'38.240
1968 Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) = 8'39.657
1970 Nissan Skyline GT-R HT 2000 (KPGC10) = 8'42.005
1967 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-B = 9'16.918

I will also say most if not all of those Muscle car times would have been quicker again if they had more gearing, they were all topping out.

What about Tsukuba you say? Well I also tested all these on Tsukuba also:

1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray L46 350 = 1'02.653
1971 Plymouth Barracuda 440 Six Pack = 1'03.415
1971 Dodge Charger Superbee 426 Hemi = 1'03.695
1965 Shelby Mustang GT 350R = 1'03.928
1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 = 1'04.038
1964 Pontiac GTO = 1'04.189
1970 Plymouth SuperBird = 1'04.603
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 = 1'04.620
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350 = 1'04.792

1971 Nissan 240ZG = 1'08.613
1968 Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) = 1'09.250
1970 Nissan Skyline GT-R HT 2000 (KPGC10) = 1'09.317
1967 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-B = 1'12.760

There's something I forgot to mention. It's been since GT2 that PD had an eye on past cars. GT4 was a celebration of the automobile. It's probably the first game where you can drive cars across three different centuries. The Daimler machines from the 1880s were slow and unloved by casual racers. However, it's a nice history lesson to show how far we've come. Remember that Gran Turismo is all about the cars. People who are more appreciative of cars can appreciate cars that go as fast as 11 mph on wooden tires. I haven't unlocked the Ford Model T (meaning I have to Gold the Super License), but this game featured MANY classic cars. My beloved Toyota 2000GT and Mercedes-Benz 300SL were both featured. Racing gamers do just that- race. Racing gamers that appreciate automobiles in general were appreciative of classic cars in addition to current cars. Like them or not, those cars were cool even if you weren't born at the time of that car. We're guaranteed at least one classic with that 1960 Corvette that won Best in Show at SEMA last year. How many more we get will depend on what PD has in store for us.

Agreed.
I take the GT series as a DRIVING sim as opposed to a RACING sim.
Just the fact that I could drive a rare classic (or Dud for that matter), with similar characteristics to it's real life counterpart, gives me a feeling of joy that I rarely get from a modern machine.
I applaud PD for giving emphasis to the cars of yesteryear in their games, and hope they continue the tradition with GT5.

My beloved Toyota 2000GT and Mercedes-Benz 300SL

Don't worry the 2000GT will be in GT5 for shore, its not like they gonna replace it with something new and sporty from toyota.

That's because there hasn't been a sports car in the Toyota line-up in a while...They're too busy making Prius(s) and Camrys.

They are working, sorry i mean subaru is working on a sporty RWD coupe. And toyota will have thear own version. But i'm happy, who doesn't want a 200bhp NA FR coupe.

Exactly! 👍

As long as it looks good and goes alright, that could easily be in my garage

I ran the Charger R/T , Chevelle SS , KPGC10 , 2 laps each at Nurburgring , all cars 100 % stock with S-2 tires . The Chevelle and Charger were a bit of a handfull with a few minor sand / wall brushes , suffered some top end speed loss, but overall not bad . The KPGC10 , I feel was a lot more of a forgiving car , descent handling , not real fast , but it was good. Here are my times ( sorry for fuzzy pics ) :
All cars were virgin , never driven as seen by pics , o miles , I drove each one equally fair , as to be non-impartial , each one had a fair shake of 2 laps. So the KPGC even lost in the video game at Nurburgring as per your requestion . I do give you a 👍 on the KPGC , it was a fine car , just not in the same class .

There is also a new silvia on the way, about 225bhp from a 1.8 turbo.

2010_nissan_fr_sports_coupe5.jpg

This a leaked pic from a nissan meating. It was on the internet like a month ago.

But back on topic, i realy hope GT5 will have atleast 700 cars. There are gonna be lots of cars lost, just look a the things we lost from GT2.

What did I do wrong , the pics are not here !!!!!!!

You need to upload your photos to Imageshack, Photobucket, Tinypic and the like. Just how it works.

200 HP, 1200kilos, does not a fast car make. i never said it wasn't fun. I said it'll be pretty weak.

mustangGT90210 , THANKS !!! , Well here were my times at Nurburgring , 2 laps each in completely stock , 0 mile cars , on S-2 tires , no aids :
'70 Chevelle SS - ( lap 1 ) 8:16.522
( lap 2 ) 8:06.670
'70 Charger R/T - ( lap 1 ) 8:21.316
( lap 2 ) 8:12.395
'70 KPGC - ( lap 1 ) 8:47.754
( lap 2 ) 8:45.200

the thing is, S2 tires are like semi slicks IRL. those laps should eb run on N2's, or N1's, to be realistic to the car's era.

200/225bhp and 1200KG aint weak, thats a better power to weight raito than the S14's k's. They can't give to much BHP, because it would compete with the skyline 370GT and 370Z. The 0-100 time is gonna be about 6.5 sec.

I appreciate the good point 👍 , but also in that era racing slicks were also available . Seeing that all cars in the game were equipped the same , thus , no advantage. I think VIPERGTSR01 did his tests on S-2's as well,I ran what tires were on the cars in the game per default though.

0-100 in 6.5 seconds? Go straight to the ludicrous claims thread. Do not pass go, Do not collect 200 dollars. Had to do it, Venari

Let's put this into perspective here, that's 2 seconds slower than a Ferrari F50. It may do 0-60 in that time, but never 0-100

@ImagineByLennon, I ran my tests on N3's, seeing as they are probably the best budget tires you could have on your car in that time.

You know he could mean 0-100 km/h.

Yes I run all my tests on default tyres (S2 as stated in my post), frankly I don't want to mess around figuring out which tyre is more like the real thing on any paticular car. All cars were run on the same tyre which is what matters in a comparison.

Way I see it, I use default tyre like a control tyre, all cars have the same then we can figure out which car uses them the best.

Km/h.

meh...i run all my Car Vs Car tests on N1's, no driver aids. that way, the car's setup is what shows, not the fact that you're on OMFGLEETTIRES.

You know he could mean 0-100 km/h.

BINGO, you could have looked on my profile where i'm from. And i use KG's so it should have been clear what i ment.

yeesh. wish Americans would remember that it's only us that use the "body Parts" system exclusively (i think the brits are half metricized?)

My bad, I misunderstood.

They use inches...and centimeters...and miles per hour...and meters...they're worse than us!

Another one is they have their own thread pitch ststem as far as bolts go,my buddy was restoring his Healy and some where in the process he lost 2 banjo fitting bolts, could not use uss or sae American pitch, could not use metric pitch 1.0 , 1.25 , 1.5 or anything,it was British pipe thread,a pitch all of it's own, these bolts were a treat to find,if I remember correctly,he special ordered them from some place in England.

i don´t want oldies, but muscle cars.i don´t like to drive an old fiat or alfa romeo or so, because they are boring and slow. to drive the newest cars, that is fun, because sometimes you see an GT-R and then you wanna drive it too. if i see an oldies, i must only smile a little bit but i don´t realy think it´s funny to drive an old Ford T Model. cars from the ´90 an up are ok, but an car from the ´60...........who wanna drive that. Muscle cars from 1940 ans higher are cool, but an alfa or so are ugly and usless
