It's not the small ones that I mind, like the "M" or Josh's Lexus, those are well with the limits of reasonability. But now we have several members, the worst of which being Viperman that totally abuse this. It's nothing more than a new way to spam to most members.
Take poor little Mazda Brainwashed Mazkid and his advertising space. He's running full length commercials on a marquee now, taking the vertical spam and moving horizontal. When I'm reading posts in threads with tons of these marquees it tends to get very distracting, and gives things a very disorganized look at times.
I'm thinking that a "wait and see" attitude is the way to go, seeing if people can keep themselves in control. If everyone calms down with their new toy, I'm all for anything new, as long as I think it will have a positive overall effect on the forum. But as I see it right now, I think it's just going to be more spam which is already a big problem here at GTP.
As for diabling the sigs, I like to see what many people put in their sigs, and I often visit the websites linked in people sigs so I really don't view that as an option.
