Found a great room to race in? Competitive, fair, great bunch of drivers? One host leaves and the next one is off petting his cat or combing his hair and not attending to host duties? No problem right, just tell everyone to reject vote Mr. Absent Host, and move on.

Not anymore. In PD's infinite wisdom, now you're stuck with the absent host, either racing the same track over and over if the auto race cycle is on, or endless laps at the same track with no racing because you can no longer reject vote the host.

What in God's name would possess PD to eliminate that useful feature?

Because people were kicking the host at Spa and then somehow getting the track for themselves.

So because it happened in the week between the DLC for the different parts of the world, a situation which no longer applies for the most part, we have the change the rules for the entire game to cover that one situation?

Isn't that like throwing out the baby with the bath water?

what about when KIDS kick GOOD hosts? when they think fair and good hosting is bad.. when they think all driving aids should be turned ON.. when they think I should put 5 laps instead of 10 just becosue they want so.. while i and my friends have a good racing... I did not like that you can kick good host for nothing.. If you dont like the room quit it and find anotherone or create your own... done!

Funny how most of these kids are in their twenties.

The good thing is that I can be as strict as I like and not be kicked for wanting people to race clean.

Someone started a kickvote (failed) on me yesterday because I was kicking people with racecars in my room with the name 600PP, Roadcars only.

What!!!!!? You were kicking people just because they brought race cars to a street car event! Geeze, the next thing you know you'll be kicking people who bring over powered LM cars to Miata rallies!

I tell ya, a guy cant crash a good race anymore without getting the boot!

Thank PD for taking the right step in giving us more restrictions on setting up the rooms. This should help keep some of the guys out who don't want to play by the hosts rules. I think a lot of people out there loose sight of the fact that a person opened the room. They go into rooms with the thought that they should be able to change it or operate the way they want to with out reguard to the room owners wishes.

Is this even true? The release notes seem very clear in saying that it is the "person who created the room" who cannot be kicked unless they leave and come back. No mention of the word "host" is found, nor is there any mention of the protection migrating. If what that says is correct then this is a very very good thing, as it will eliminate the morons taking over every room they feel like on a whim - at least not until the creator has moved on. If, as you suggest, it simply means no host can be voted out, then PD is again guilty of flatly lying and so by all means, rage on with my full support.

A good host can kick out the kicks raising up a stink anytime he wants. Any room I'm hosting if I have people whining about raising PP or trying to bring out race cars to a street event, it's an automatic boot, no questions asked. Do that and there won't be enough of them around to reject vote you. Now it's ruined for everyone.

Perhaps you're right Morgoth I guess I didn't read it literally. I'll have to see how it works in the game, but I don't do a lot of random lobbies anymore anyway because of all the nonsense.

You can still reject vote hosts.

Just not the original host, before he leaves on his own.

It's great! You can keep a public lobby as secure as your own private lounge now!

Correct and to go one step further I believe it's PDs/Sony's way of making sure people who did not purchase the track DLC cannot host an online room with said tracks. Except it doesn't work.. put the room up for a track vote and as long as one person has Spa and votes for it (non-host) (and the other people in the room don't vote) the track will load and you can race away even if the host did not buy the tracks.

If the room title says 600pp road cars and then you go on track in a race car you should be kicked.

Same when room states UK only or German only and so on. hen different nationalities come in the yshould be kicked as its clear in the room title. I was in a room last night watching a 2 lap race finish when a french guy came into the room obviously ignored the title UK only, when the race finished the host asked him if he had seen the room title and the french guy replied in english ' sorry dont speak english' he was kicked then proceeded to send the host loads og hatemail from XMB page.

@ Mark, Slightly off topic here, but why do you host UK Only lobbies, I never really understood myself, is it to do with lag of something?

If you care to read my post again, I did'nt host the UK only, I was not the host. Clearly your of the type that does'nt read room titles or post's properly.
