No pikes peak!!!

This is an outrage! How the heck can the car description for the S1 Quattro talk it up as holding the pikes peak hillclimb record and it not be in the game? It was in dirt1. This is just to frustrating to me. I love pikes peak, whats the point of hillclimb cars without it.
 
How many DLC packs are there already? 4? I think it'd be safe to say more DLC will be along the way, and Pikes Peak may just make it into one of those.

I'm with you there. I want to be able to redeem my VIP code so I can play online and use all the cars currently in the game. I'm predicting it'll be up Tuesday the 31st.

Me too... there is only about $60 worth of stuff I want to buy off the store too!! Arrival DLC for Mass Effect 2, both packs for Shift 2 Unleashed and anything they may have up for Dirt3!!!

Same here....well cept for the ME2 stuff. I still found that game a snorefest :/.

I never played Dirt1 but people keep talking about hill climb. Was that just an uphill road, or actualy hill climbs like 4x4 rock climbs, or buggy hill climbs? I would love to see any or all in a DLC.

It's a rally game, not a hillclimb game. So between that and the way the Quattro was built for rallying first and foremost, I'd much rather see a famous rally stage like the Col de Turini in the game before Pike's Peak. I really don't see what all the fuss is about - this is not the travesty you're making it out to be.
 
It's just a little odd as the Audi's livery has Pikes Peak numberboards.

...and it is not a GymaKhana game but you are forced to do it countless times during your Dirt Tour. They present so much Hillclimb cars and some of them introduced as being specialized and built only for Pikes Peak, you have to wonder why it is missing. Pikes Peak is like the Nordschleife - famous, veeeeeeery long and difficult. It should be availible!

I bet it is a licence issue (costs) as usual.

I am dissapointed with the actual range of tracks, thats my only point of criticism for a sensational game. They said they will focus more on traditional rally, but I had to drive way to much GymaKhana disciplines and RallyCross races to take this statement serious anymore.

DLC is no excuse!

I had never played DiRT before either but upon reading the good reviews and being interested in rally racing, I decided to give it a go. Definitely a fun game to play.

But to answer your question, there aren't any hill climbs in the form that you mention but you do get to drive trucks and a buggy.
 
Like he said, Its like the nordschleife Its an Iconic stage, Its a way to compare in game times to real life times. Rally stages are rally stages the don't have the reputation or prestige of the nordschleife or pikes peak. And dirt3 may as well be a ford commercial focusing on gymkhana and drifting from the looks of it so far. I mean they have the quattro at 500hp? Yeah right.
 
Yah I wouldn't want to get rally cars mixed up w/ hill climb cars except for this being like one of the oldest competitions in the U.S. and not to mention the pedigree of the worlds greatest drivers that have taken a shot at it. Why would anyone want to include an old wagon trail somewhere in Colorado? :lol:

I will be buying Dirt 3 as well. If you like rallying Dirt 1 was great imo. It is a very hard game to find used where I live. I finally found one last year but called 4 gamestops in my area and ended up getting one at a pawnshop.

It sucks that Pikes Peak is not in. Hopefully it will be DLC. This track is fun on the first game.
 
Yeah that's too bad about pike's peak. Would be a fitting match for the few hill climb vehicles they have included in the game.

You've clearly never been to Pikes Peak.

PPIHC is sort of like my Mecca. There is no purely-timed event close to PPIHC in my opinion. Took this shot last summer, on my third trip:

Agreed. I was fortunate enough to make it to Pike's Peak and it was one of the most astounding places I've been. Travelling up it gives an exceptional idea of the challenges it places on the drivers. Without a doubt a true mecca of rallying / hill climb and a shame it has not made Dirt 3.

Sorry, but this would trump every event offered in DIRT 3. I've gone back to play it in D1 several times, but would love to run some of these D3 cars on it.
