Jordan - you eliminated post counts in order to eliminate a "class" difference between members that is based solely on post number. This is a noble and good cause, but the purpose is defeated somewhat when we can still see that members who have a lot of posts are called "Gold" or "Senior" members, and those who don't post a lot get crummy titles like "Member" or "Needs to Post More". I propose this: eliminate the member status system. There are several ways to go about this:
a) make everyone a "Valued Member" (or just "Member", if the former sounds like a rental-car slogan) until 500 posts at which point they can create their own title
b) allow everyone to create a custom status from the beginning
c) have two statuses, "Active Member" and "Member", based on post number, then the custom titles at 500 posts, or:
d) I realize the difficulty in programming this, but perhaps use "Active Member" and "Member" not based on post counts, but post rates. This way, a member who is active from the beginning but has only been a member for 2 weeks will be an "Active User" along with an active member who has been a member for a year. Get my drift?
Food for thought . . . cheers!
